Alright I just bought a 350 with 40K. I want to get the most bang for my buck. Here is my dilema. I use the car as a daily driver and drive about 130 miles per day. I wanted to ask and see what superchargers have been the most reliable out there.
Thanks

YOu do realize that gas is going to go up in price again & a supercharger on a daily driver (especially driven 130+ miles daily) is going to take it toll on the VQ35de, right???

With a commute of 130 miles each day - only a suggestion, but keeping it stock (or close to it) will be the most reliable thing to do.

Having said that - if you really really insist on doing it - check out the FI forum...I'm sure this will be moved in a few min by an admin...

Good Luck

Stillen is the most reliable I believe. Just slap it on and go. It's "bang for the buck" value is low though.

Got to say I agree with the keeping it stock. That is asking a lot of the engine/supercharger to put so many miles a day on it.

Also, how long do you see yourself having that long of a commute? I would hate to run the car into the ground prematurely. My commute is 150 miles a day so I bought a beater that I am willing to drive till it falls apart.

hear is the deal my company pays for gas so I dont care about that. Some days I drive 150 some 50. I will put about 2500 per month give or take. I was thinking of running a vortech sc. with stock pullys and a FMU with larger injectors.

Well that's swell.

What do larger injectors get you with out a larger fuel pump? Look into walbro for the pump. Injectors are going to run you 300$ or more each. Maybe you get lucky and find some re-mans for 275$.
Maybe a blaster coil from msd some msd wires a plenum spacer and a set of iridiums?
Burn what you're pushing now more efficiently. Before you waste money on injectors.

If you up the fuel flow. You have to start playing with the air / fuel ratio. That means the m.a.s. And maybe even some fuel mapping with the ecu.

You don't sound like you have ever done this sort of thing before. If you have it sounds like it was on a honda. Learn to drive and work on it as is before you frankenstien some sh*t and end up blowing it up and using the nike express.

i dont know man, putting your 350z through that everyday can be quite abusive for her. the supercharger will demand more out of the engine too. its not a question of paying for gas, but how well you want to maintain your car's lifespan for. im even more concerned since you dropped 40k for one. most 350z sell for just a little over 20k and apparently some for around 10-15k as well.

Dude. I think he meant to say that it had 40k miles on it.
If he payed 40k. Well that sort of says it all. Right.

oh haha my bad! sorry i didnt read your initial post too clearly. well, i read somewhere else on this forum that the nissan engineers designed the engine to last around 200k miles. your miles will add up really quickly so i still think youre better off driving another car you wont be afraid of abusing.
