Default Why no VDC with Auto Transmission?

Does any one know why VDC isn't an option on models with the 5AT? Does having VDC even make a difference on the 5AT? In full auto mode, the 5AT would automatically adjust due to driving conditions and dynamics. TCS and LSD would control wheel spin and traction. EBD and ABS would control skidding and brake force.

A friend of mine thinks it's because the adaptive transmission on the 5AT may be using the same sensors that VDC would use to measure the vehicle dynamics to determine which shift algortithms to use. He thinks Nissan just didn't want to use redundant sensors to keep cost down. This is just his guess so he might be way off.

If this is so, why does the G35c have it as an option on their transmission? Isn't it basically the same?

This has been done before, but it has nothing to do with automatics, it is just coincidence, the VDC only comes with the Performaance and Track models, which you can't get AT with and it comes with the Touring with 6MT because when you add the 6MT to the touring you get the Performance package (18" wheels/Tire Pressure/VDC).

I have the Enthusiast 6MT and it doesn't have the VDC.
