i dont believe paypal report to the 3 credit agencies.

they locked my account and placed it in negative 1000.00 because of a somewhat similar situation 2 years back. and i just finally finished paying that off and not once did i ever saw that on my report. and i often check my report too.

if the same thing happened to you, then why are you paying it off??? it was your money in the beginning... you shouldn't be burdening the hassle of some idiot who trying to rip you off... seems like you're a victim regardless even if you get your money back in the bank.

Unless you got a set of Volks sitting at your house, you dont owe paypal one penny. thats between them and the scammer. my guess would be they would try to get it from you first, as they know you have the money.

Seems the guy got victimized twice - would be a cold day in hell before I would have "paid them back".

How about an update on the remainder of the folks that this douchebag scammed? That would make this thread have an epic conclusion, regardless if the scammer goes to PMITA prison or has his wages garnished for life.

if your paypal is in negative for more than 60days they will send collections after you. I would suggest you contact them regarding the fraud issue so that they can put the negative balance on the scammer.

This is what I was suggesting, while PAYPAL may not communicate directly with the Credit Agencies, you better believe their dogs will... It is a sticky situation, my point is the $2300 you got is not really "Free of Charge", you still essentially have someone else's money in hand...

You don't want to be the guy dressed as a Pirate singing with his guitar about his credit ruins... My point is you need to resolve this with Paypal, because you are not sitting pretty for the future as it is... My

Everyone stay on topic also. I just spent the past 3 hours cleaning this thread up...

Paypal is extremely difficult to deal with and I avoid them whenever possible. I once had a friend of mine sell something on ebay for me. When the auction was over my friend sent me the funds via paypal. PayPal somehow thought this was fraudulent. I had already deposited the money my friend sent me and then they marked it fraud. What happened was they locked my paypal and put a $-1200 negative balance on my account. They also locked my friends account.

I had to call multiple times, submit tons of evidence, get my friend to do the same, provide proof they shipped the item, and in the end because it took so long my account went into collection. I also had to deposit the money back into paypal before they would even consider my fraud claim.

Keep in mind I had been using paypal for years and had made many large transactions to and from my account.
