Liquid Aluminum Sighting
I am very surprised at some of the reactions here.
For $1100, you expected a $20k paint job?
From this low res photo, it is still obvious that they did get more of that brushed aluminum effect. Like others have said, the effect may not be as obvious in direct sunlight. Most of the colors on the Z don't look their best in direct, bright sunlight. The sunlight tends to wash out the color.
Like most things, I will reserve judgement until I have seen it in person.

Jkoyasak,
Thanks for the pic. I echo the sentiments of many so far - why 3 silvers and no yellow or darker blue or Caribbean blue? And if you're going to do 3 silvers, why not make the 3rd one a serious gunmetal one? SS isn't dark enough for me. Oh well....

I assume they did the 3rd silver because they plan to charge a premium price for it. Since silver is what the majority of people purchase, they have a better chance of making money on the option.

Looks like Liquid Aluminum is only offered on the Touring coupe model and you can get burnt orange leather with it as well. Wish I knew that, would of loved to have that combo. Oh well...

If there are 30000 Zs, and 50% of all Z owners buy a silver, say 10% of those opt for the rare - and better looking (in some opinions) 1100 dollar silver. Thats a total of 1500 buyers and $1,650,000 for nissan. Say they had a brickyard 1100 dollar paint job. Brickyard sold around 8% (just a guess, but it couldn't have done well if they no longer make it) of all Z owners at a non premium price. If they can't even sell alot of them at the regular price, how many do you think they could sell at a premium? Its simple numbers here.

jkoyasak...
was just looking at your pic. From a distance, it looks like the droptop on the right could also LA (but, I'm guessing CS since the convertible has no LA option). With a SS on the left. All three silvers in one shot. Looks like, from a distance, you couldn't really tell LA from CS... hmm... $1100 rip off...

). My point is that by April all you're going to see on the lots are muti shades of silver Z's. Pull up in a Brickyard & see what kind of reaction you get from the buyers. My guess is it would be extremely possitive.
No offense to the brickyard owners, but according to several dealerships in N. Cali, the brickyard did extremely poor in this area.
Several salesmen tried to sell me a brickyard and were willing to wheel and deal with that color while they wouldn't even budge on the other colors.
Don't get me wrong, I think it's good looking color, but I think the numbers just didn't pan out for Nissan and so they dropped it.

The LA really does look like a slightly lighter shade of CS. I can't tell any other difference from the pics I've seen. What do the eyewitnesses think? It seems like a major disappointment, but I'm really not upset that I have CS now...
