Looking for sponsors so I can compete in the Texas Speedventures national runoff.
OK, I have been thinking about this for days now. I really would like to do this event, but I think they have the transporter all full. That means it's a 3200 mile roundtrip for me from Cali to Texas and back. So I was thinking how I could bankroll this trip, but also do some good at the same time.
How about something like this. Gas/Food/Motel6/Entry Fees/Misc Spares are gonna run at least $1500. I could collect donations through Paypal or mail. If I win my class (T5) for any or all of the three days that I am there, everyone promises to make a 2nd equal donation to the St. Jude Children's Hospital. I will then also make a $600 personal donation to SJCH.
So if I could get 75 (where are all the original charter members??) to donate $20(suggested) that would make the $1500. I think I have a pretty good shot at the class win on one of the 3 days, in my last three outings I have a first, a second, and a first and the Texas Motor Speedway track should really suit my car. I will be competing againt the likes of S2000's on race rubber and non Z06 Vettes and E46 M3's on street tires. When the final results are posted on Speedventures and I pull off a T5 win on one of the 3 days then everyone would make a second equal donation to SJCH and I will chip in my $600 donation. If I don't win my class at all, I will make an $800 donation for the entire my350z community. That would be a nice $2100 donation for them and you are out maybe $40. Tako is rich, hook a brother up!

You could also have bragging rights next time you are bar racing your 350Z at the local watering hole with your S2000 driving buddy!!
Any vendors that want to donate brake pads and such would also be appreciated.
I know this is a longshot, but it would be a way to have some fun, but also make a difference as well. I know my350z has a large Texas contingent so if you want to come out and get some ride alongs, I would be happy. I will just need to borrow a passenger seat out of your car as mine will be left home to make room for race tires!! Mods, can you leave this in general for a bit so people actually see it?
