Default Engine Noises?

After my car is good and warm...it tends to idle quite roughly, with little exhause burps every few seconds...also, the engine itself sounds kind of "rattly" is this common to the Z?!?! Someone please tell me yes!

Well...It does it in neutral with the parking brake on while idling. Could it be the clutch rattling? It sounds like it is coming from the back(firewall side) of the motor.

The clutch wouldnt explain the exhaust burps either way.

Do you have the Injen CAI or another type of aftermarket intake?? We have found the idle to be lower than normal and also the exhaust blurps or misfires do to the install of an intake.

The exhaust burps are probably from a low idle speed or misfiring from bad gas or a rich mixture. But the rattling, if the clutch, would go away when the clutch is disengaged (pedal in).

My clutch rattles like crazy and my engine sometimes burps when idling low. When I turn the AC fan on (with the AC actually off), the accessory seems to run the engine a tiny bit faster and the burping goes away. Next time I hit the dealer I'll ask them to check the idle speed. Damn electronic throttle...

Thanks...I'll try that. It has been doing this over many tanks of gas, and I only buy from the "good brands" of gasoline...Premium octane of course.

I'll try playing with the clutch...I do think the burping is because my idle is a little too low.
