Default I got ripped off and need help...

Ok, so I didnt know where to post this, so I put it here. I bought an exhaust from a member on here and paid in full via pay-pal and never recieved it. this member wont reply to my messages and I have no other means of contacting him. I am currently in Iraq and need some help on how to resolve this. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Im going to go out on a limb and say it was this one right?

https://my350z.com/forum/exhaust/406...-for-sale.html

here is where you made a mistake. guy only has 17 posts. Has no itrader feedback, and has been on the site for less than a year.

Not to sound like a complete dick, but a little common sense should have been used here.

I keep seeing all these "I got ripped off" threads which 90% of the time have a few common denominators.

new to site
low post count
no itrader ratings

Now maybe it is just me, but it seems like that would set off an alarm in my head if I was looking to buy something.

Best thing you can do is file a paypal dispute, as the item was never delivered. If you paid through your credit card through pay pal, you also would be wise to contact the credit card company and start a charge back.

Last but not least NEVER DO A BANK TRANSFER THROUGH PAYPAL.

Usually if you file a dispute with paypal they will withdraw the amount from the recipents account if the amount is over $100 and hold it until the problem is solved. It will take some time to get resolved usually but it works.. Like mentioned above beware of those people who have few posts...even though i fall into that catergory.

Jeesh, what is it with the lack of common sense some of our forum members have been lacking these days? Agreed with what USN HM 350Z said. If we've said it once, we'll say it again, review member's post count and itrader feedback before making personal transactions with them.

OP, I'm sorry you have to go through this and I do sympathize with you. Please be careful next time around, with regards to personal online transactions. Do the research. Know who you're dealing with. We're seeing too many members getting scammed and too many "I got scammed" threads, due to innocent members not taking the time to research the seller.

Buyer beware. Always remember this! Take care, and I hope your issue gets ressolved...

I am going to suggest half now-half after receipt for buyers. If you cannot negotiate the half now-half later agreement with the seller, then pass. This way both the seller and buyer assumes equal risk.

Should there be a new sub-forum created for scammers and /or impatient purchasers? It seems the front page only contains threads about being ripped off and threads that are moved....

And a poll also. Don't know why but polls are cool.

Seems like paypal is spending more time chasing these losers these days than handling legit transactions.Like I said before,if I can't see it,touch it or taste it,I ain't buying it.

ok well i am the guy that apparently ripped him off... i know i know flame on right.. i have already replied to him on here and on his email account about the reason y.

my father had a severe stroke and i have been taking care of him and in all honesty have just not had time to ship this out or take it off my car for that matter.

i am not a scammer by any means and did not want to upset him in any way i am ver sorry for that. i hope this will be resolved and i can salvage this for what it is. an honest mistake...

if he would like to call me he can at 217-663-2207 my name is jesse finke and again i am very very sorry

My mother told me there is always two sides to every story. Good to here yours. Sorry about the family situation; however, when you take someone's money, that agreement takes priority. I am sure that you will make it right.

NOTE: When buying used parts, ask the seller if they are off the car, boxed, and ready for shipping.

Sorry my friend, but this not good logic. For example, nothing personal, but I wouldn't give you the time of day if you were a seller. A few post, short amount of time on the forums, and low itrader rating. No way I'd send you my money. Again, nothing personal, it's just an example.

Now the way to build trust on the forums is by doing some online transactions with our vendors. Build up some good trader ratings from them. After you rack up a few posts and a history of smooth transaction, then people will begin to see you're legit...
