Sorry to ruin the encouraging theme of this thread, but my 04 has the dreaded seat clicking issue. Noticed it after about 300 miles or so. The shift from 1st to 2nd can be a little chunky in the morning when it's cold, but smooths out quickly. Otherwise, no other serious problems (not even window grease streaks!).
I've had my car 1 week to the day it now has just shy of 800 miles and the car is great. I have 2 minor issues that need to be addressed. The rear view mirror rattles and there's another rattle coming from the left rear side over the driver seat that I can't locate, oh have warrenty that's their job.

I've had mine about a month and 800 miles are on her. I have a few problems:

1) My hatch won't release unless I push and hold the release button on the car and lift it. If I use my keyfob, it doesn't work. If I hit the button and let go, I can't raise the hatch. It's a pain because you have to use both hands.

2) When shifting the Auto tranny between Park and Drive or Reverse, the car jumps a bit. Perhaps I need the motor mounts replaced. I would expect a car like the Z to be more refined. I don't feel the same thing on my 2003 Xterra. Anyone notice the same thing with the Automatic?

3) Brake dust, but I thought that was because I brake hard a lot.

4) My gas door sticks sometimes.

Your issues seem new to me. I just found out that if you have the 2004.5 instead of the 2004 that supposedly the tire feathering issue doesn't apply to you. I am fortunate to be in the 4.5 portion of course now I just have to wait and see if that is in fact the case.

My gas door only stuck the first time I tried to open it and since then has been fine. The mirror is really bugging me. I notice every little rattle. Have been that way since I purchase my 02 IS300 which had a lot of rattles great car though, I miss it now, but don't regret the trade.
