Dude that sucks. In ohio (and kentucky), if you call the cops and tell them you're locked out of your car, they'll pop it open for you. Or just spend $100 and have a locksmith come out and get it opened.

This reminds me of a funny story... I pulled into a gas station one night, and I see this guy kicking the **** out of his window (it was an older infiniti Q45 or something). He was yelling and freaking out, so I walked over to ask what his problem was. He told me he locked his keys in his car running, and he was drunk, and had an open bottle of beer in the drivers cup holder. He then handed me a rock, and asked me to please smash the passenger window. I smashed the **** out of that ****, he thanked me, unlocked the car, hopped in, and sped off. It was one of the most random things ever, but really fun.

Anyway... Someone else mentioned it, but why not just block the exhaust with a rag or something, that should get it to stall, and not really cause any damage at all. I'd think that would be better for your car than idling all night.

Good luck on it either way, thats rough man.

Yeah exactly. You'd think these guys that own the same car would know that.

I would think your best bet would be pressed the window switch or unlock button. That **** is frustrating.

Would plugging up the exhaust really not hurt the engine? That doesn't sound good. I don't know everything about engines - i can rebuild one, and i know alot, but i am unsure that clogging the exhaust is a good idea?? Well, better than letting the engine run for 24 hours... d**n this sucks!

I've done it a couple times just ****ing around, and nothing has happened.

http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r200...e-Exhaust-Pipe

I just googled to see what other people have said. If I were in your position, that's what I'd do. A full 20 gallons of gas will burn FOREVER with the car idling.

This story really has my attention lol.

Default answer... kinda..

if the doors are locked then the trunk would be locked also... mostlikely... don't know why the car can't be opened by a locksmith because most locksmiths have the right tool for that sorta thing.... anyway.. just go to the nissan dealership and have them make you a new key, unless you got it second hand or from a dealer... then this post was a waste of your time... hahaha sorry

this would make a great tv show...each episode featuring a different method you tried to get into the car.

the final episode of course would have KITT come over and use his 3D object generator to make you a new key...or a new window.

How did you manage to lock the doors with the keyfob inside? Did you manually lock the door, then get out and shut it? I'm not mocking you, just boggled.

Ok, so I'm mocking you a little in my head.

Call AAA or any tow truck company, they should be able to unlock it.

If you take a a flat screw driver and pop out the bottom door handle you can unlock it that way. That is what used when some broke into my Z and stole my air bags one night. If you take your time there will not be any paint damage or very little. Also, the dealer ship will put it back properly for very little cost, around 40 bucks

Probably the proper villians that know how much more valuable the airbags are than some used cd player lol.

At the dealer the air bags costs anywhere from 700 to 1200. I am pretty sure bags did not end up on craigs or ebay. I checked those site everyday for 3ths. It was just someone that prob. wrecked there car and needed some bags.

I really have no idea how i locked the car. Obviously, I had to have inadvertantly pushed the manual lock (by the handle) or the remote lock button (on the keyring). But i really don't know how i would have missed doing that. I'm not as big of an idiot as this situation says i am - I have a 3.3 GPA in my senior year of computer engineering & as far as common sense, i usually prove to have more than most (except for the current situation). Just trying to explain i'm not an idoit - most of the time .

I saw the difficulty and the numerous tools the, now 3, locksmiths have tried in trying to get the lock rod inside the door & wedging the window open, to the point they thought it would break or bend the door frame. They just simply can't.

I said previously that the car will run for 24 hours: that's just until i can get a key from the dealer - hopefully. The car will easily run for 48 hours, probably 53 with a full 20 gallons of gas. It's burned approximately 3 in 8 hours.

I would love to post some RIDICULOUS pics, but i don't have a decent 'dark lighting' camera.

I love the humor, making me laugh amidst all this PAIN.

Dude, I can't believe you didn't just break the window. That is pretty much your best bet.
