Not much of a reader are you? Let me give you the cliff notes version of the thread:

OP - I locked my keys in my car..... Full tank of gas..... I will let it run all night..... IQullBot break the window. Going to the dealership in the morning to get a key made.

Person who can't read # 1 - So what will you do when it runs out of gas? The door will still be locked! Owned!

Person who can't read # 2 - Even after the car runs out you still won't be able to get inside!

Person who can't read # 3 - Have you thought about breaking the window?

OP - The dealership opens in the morning and I can get them to make a key..... I still will not break the window.

Person who can't read # 4 - Won't the car still be locked after it runs out of gas?

Person who can't read # 5 - Just break the window. The door won't open in the morning either!!!

Someone who can read - As he has stated 32 times, the dealership opens in the morning and he can get them to make a key.

Person who can read #6 (aka your dumb a$$) - So what will u do when the gas runs out.... You still can't get in.

That's pretty much the condensed version of the 7 pages of this thread.

Just pop the door handle off like the dude said. If you're careful you can do it with very little paint damage.

Finally - Problem SOLVED. Went to the dealer this morning with proof of ownership. They cut me a key for $95! It's still not programmed to be used in the ignition (since they didn't have access to the vehicle). Programming is an additional $82.

I'm changing the oil, it's draining out now. I'm not taking any chances. Even though i just changed it a week ago, i'm sure it's very contaminated having idled for 20 hours. engine spots were a little hot, but I don't think anything overheated. I drove it a little before turning it off in attempt maybe to burn off any carbon deposits before they cool and become harder to remove. It seems to run just as good as before, no noises even at high rpms, same power & acceleration.

The gas gauge reads above half a tank. In my experience, that means 12 gallons. So, my car burnt approximately 8 gallons of gas in 20 hrs @ 30degF.

So i think i'm in the clear. Just ate the gas ($15 for 8 gal of 91 here). Woooh

I wonder if there was a risk of the grass catching fire from the heat of the engine/cats.

Glad you got it fixed. And now you have a spare key!

Haha. My pleasure. Just my attempt at helping make educated posters. Having said that...

Your neighborhood looks a little dicey. I am not sure I would have left it in the yard all night. You should have put one of those Club things on the steering wheel before you went to bed!

Glad to hear you were able to get it all worked out!

If you were able to hook the drivers door handle, you should have been also able to hit the window switch down button or the unlock button. Have someone get their fingers in the window while you used a yard tick or similar to push down the window button.

Nah, as stated in the first post, I already practiced on another 350. Actually we had to do a 300 TT AND a 350 same day - no one ever said the ZROC crew were the brainiest group around. But neither car was running - the 350 owner left his keys laying on the seat, sat on it and tripped the locks while the door was open, and then got out and closed the door. Don't remember the TT story. And we didn't exactly steal **** back in the day, just kind of "borrowed" it to see the reaction. Obviously, we were starved for excitement, lol

To the OP - glad it all worked out. Don't think I would have slept all night.

Use brake line not coat hangers. I'm not lying there flexible yet very strong. I've been in this situation in the past and my mechanic unlocked my car in 2 minutes. Just go down to your local car parts store and get some brake line you'll thank me next time.

Wow, 20 hrs of idling thats crazy. I'm sure its ok for the car, you can drive for 20 hrs solid with no problems, but for some reason it just sounds wrong.

Glad you got a key and got in though. I'll bet it felt good to shut the car off lol..
