Shifting Techniques...

Yeah what is rev matching? I read the article on how do drive a manual and I get most things, but when you shift gears do you slam on the clutch shift and ease out slowly, how do you go from a dead stop to get the thing rolling. I really want a manual to be my next car. So far I know how to turn one on hehe. pop it in netural, but your foot on the break + cluch, release the break (make sure your in neutral) and slow let the clutch out. hehe got this down, but how do you actually move the thing!

As for rev matching, I believe that's refering to tapping the gas in between gears when down-shifting. This gets the engine RPMs up to where the transmission RPMs will be in the lower gear. If you didn't do this, the car would jerk when you down-shifted as they tried to match speeds.
