Mic - I have an old Bobby Vinton 8-track cassette tape laying around in a box somewhere in case you need more tunes.

Guess that explains why I get no respeck.
Interestingly though, I actually do have an 8-track.
Tascam 388 Reel-to-Reel ANALOG, bishies!! But alas, don't use it much. Have a more modern Tascam DR70D digi setup that's a lot more portable and can be much more easily used outdoors for live audio. Miss the warmth of the 388 but.... oh wait, I digress....

I think you missed my point. But iz OK.
Jeebus man, In-A-Gadda-Da-Vita was the first bass line I ever memorized. How could one avoid getting finger muscle memory? Bum bum bumbiddee bum, bum bum bum, Bum bum bumbiddee bum, bum bum bum [<Repeat those four measures about a thousand times until audience sleeps >.
Lawdy, I was falling asleep after 17 mins of repetition....

In-A-Gadda-Da-Vita was the first bass riff EVERYONE first memorized. LOL
For some reason, I picked "Paperback Writer" as the first lead guitar riff to master. It's pretty much all I play now, and I own like 11 effect pedals.

We've come a long ways from monosyllabic bass repetition to Victor Wooten.

One of the most amazing bass performances I've ever seen was at a small venue here in Seattle called Dimitriou's Jazz Alley between Spyro Gyra's bassist, Scott Ambush and their drummer (at the time) Joel Rosenblatt. Lead saxophonist Jay Beckenstein introduced the act as the "obligatory bass/drum battle" and it went on for about 15 minutes. I think it was at that point I realized how truly and completely untalented I am as a musician.

Scary how quickly the full wordage rolls off my tongue.
"Dave's not here." (And I can recite almost every C&C routine off their biggest albums.)
By the way, carried Stevie's bags down the loading ramp at W'land. Never wanted to wash my hands after that. Oh, and we're friends with Mick Fleetwood through our association with his restaurant on Maui, a block from our condo so we're there often. Entertaining to tell him how we used to schlep their gear into the arena for a "paycheck" of a free concert. Heh heh.... I've seen just about every big act up close and personal at least once.
Gee, suddenly, it's not just my Datsuns that are back in the '60s-70s....
OK, I'm done thread-jacking.
