Little lip under front end?

Little lip under front end?
You guys know that little lip underneath the front grille? There is a plastic strip glued to it on mine. Is this something that was supposed to be removed by the dealer or is it there for protection?
And on a side note, where the hell is the front spoiler from the factory ground effects? Me and the salesman looked at an enthusiast vs. a track and could not see any diff. in the front end?

I know exactly....
.......what you are talking about. I noticed the same plastic on the little black lip under the front bumper. My plastic was longet than the lip and hung out on the sides, so I decided just to trim the ends of the clear plastic even with the lip and just leave the plastic on there for some protection against scrapes.
You can barely tell it is there now, but in the future if the clear plastic starts to be noticable, I will take it off.

i figure its just so when you park near a curb (facing the curb), if you get a little too close, it might scrap the bottom if high enough, and instead of scraping the paint off, it takes a little plastic off. it still pains me though...

ah, that black strip has been helpful twice!
my friends driveway slopes up really high, and if i go in straight, it will make this huge scratching sound. i looked at it, and only the plastic thing got kinda frayed. neway, it was better than the bumper

The invoice on my touring's window only mentioned the side airbags.
It also has the aero kit (at least the chin and spoiler, I have not been able to verify air diffusers). Plus, the aluminum in the door sill, the Z floor mats, Z rug in back and mudflaps.
In the trunk was another invoice, that showed everything but the aero parts.
I paid based on just the airbags.

Unless you get the track version, the aero kit only comes with the front chin spoiler and and the rear lip spoiler. Only the track version comes with the rear diffusers. The rear diffusers can be purchased seperately on all other versions.
That black, approximately 1" plastic strip is the front chin spoiler. The reason it looks like the track version is because yours came with the aero package installed.

I have heard that the "aero" package is installed at the U.S. port of entry and not at the factory. That might explain some inconsistency in installation and the case where it was not listed on kgatesman's window invoice.
I am told that the aero "rear diffusers" are only available on the Track model. You can however purchase the Nissan parts and do it yourself, as I did.

that protective covering on the lip saved my butt. i went over one of those cement blocks in the parking stall and heard a scrape. i was sick... went to investigate, just scratched that protective covering. checked under it, still good, so i re-applied that covering. wont take it off until it starts to look ratty.
