Default Potential Mods for stock 06' Base Coupe

I am searching for the modification package that speaks to my inner soul. My driving habits are tame however I do enjoy weekend drives, ripping around country roads and high speed cruising on the Autobahn. I by no means adorn the wannabe Street racer/ Tokyo drifter badge but certainly appreciate a good amount of power in a vehicle. As I peruse the internet my mind wanders into the world of Forced Induction, carbon fiber and big break kits, but reality for me is considerably more boring. The vehicle is currently stateside and I will only be home for the summer before returning to Germany with her. The dollar is weak here so I need to do these mods while home, Hence the reason for this list. She is a base 06' with zero modifications besides a K&N filter. The ride has about 24,000 on the "O". My goal is to stay under $4,000 for these mods.

Exhaust:

I am really interested in Bassani's Catback. You tube sound clips and dyno results perked my interest however the threads I see posted counter some of the actual HP/TQ claims. The Borla system was a close second. These systems seemed to lack the ricer/coffee can tone that I really want to avoid. I have also researched several High flow cats but I am hesitant to install those, as I have to get the vehicle inspected once it is in country. Maybe something I can sneak on after. Headers seem to be too pricey for the gains especially with install costs.

Breathing:

Plenum spacer options are giving me a headache. For my purposes I am thinking just a 5/16 spacer and not the complete upper or lower. The MotorDyne option looks great however the Skunkworks2 plastic spacer has some claims that look promising i.e Heatsoak issues.

I really have not given CAI's too much thought as I read the stock system is an excellent design. Water ingestion is certainly an issue back home in Oregon. JWT short ram's seem to receive good reviews and I enjoy the way they sound.

Pulley's:

Unorthodox racing pulley set (anyone love them? any thoughts on those?)

Engine management:

This is the most difficult option for me. I like the idea of Technosquare's "Set it and forget it" style, but as I read more threads about the RevUp system I become Torn.

My mods are not exotic nor anything jaw dropping however they seem to be pretty standard in unlocking those hidden ponies for an NA engine.

Any input or actual dyno gains for these products would be greatly appreciated.

Question.. Is yours 06 an Auto or Manual (RevUp)?

As for me. I have 06 RevUp. I am very pleased with the performance. The exhaust sounds Great, and even better at WOT.
I used UpRev's Osiris because I wanted the Map switching. I love the Valet feature. It's great to use when to take the car to the dealer.

Mods:
Nismo Cat Back
K&N Seris 63 intake
MotorDyne 5/16 ISO Spacer & Mrev 2
Unorthodox Pully "Stock Size"
Berk High flow Cats
Hotchkis Stage 1 TVS Kit
UPREV Osiris Tuned

My apologies, I meant UpRev for the ECU management. It is a 6spd Manual.

Motordyne seems very reputable. I'm wondering if the heat soak issue can even be felt just by switching to a plastic spacer anyway.

Thanks for the reply.

I wish the marketplace wasn't so saturated with unrealistic hp/tq gains.

I LOVE my MREV2 and 5/16" spacer. Best mod combo for the REVUP engine (for the money). If you are planning on doing the 5/16" spacer, might as well swap in the MREV2 while you're in there.

The Autobahn doesn't quite go all the way to Portland. There's nothing like wet, curvy roads at 100mph to put a perfectly good Z in the junkyard.

If the car is going to Germany you would be well served to familiarize yourself with the laws there. Much of what you are considering will not pass inspections there.

Fortunately, I am not required to adhere to most of Germany's very strict vehicle restrictions and regulations. I do however need to pass emissions standards that mirror those of the states, so again HFC's may not be that good of an idea until I am in country. Benefit of being assigned here. I do appreciate your input though, because I would hate to spend the money only to have to convert back to stock. I spent a good amount of time speaking to the Customs agent here and the Auto inspections outfit to ensure that I do not make this mistake.

Right you are sir. I think it ends somewhere around Hood River lol. The vehicle will be going back with me to Germany for a year and then back to Portland the place I call home. Ah yes the land of Strip clubs and hippies. Nurnburg ring is often open to the public. Should be fun.
