Default 26k for enthusiast?

I am looking at a chrome silver enthusiast with 17k on the clock. It has all of the options except nav and the spoilers. Does 26k sound like a good price for it from a private seller. Also, as the second owner, can I still purchase the extended warranty from nissan?

DON"T BUY. Those options are not important. A brand new Enthusiasts is around 29K but im sure if you do search you can get a better price. Just do search on this forum to see what people are paying.

Use Edmunds.com to get the invoice info.

For a 16K mi car, 26k is TOO expensive.

If I was to sell mine I would ask around $27K. Enthusiast w/7k miles Daytona blue perfect with same options as above plus side air bags.

This one does have the side airbags. I was actually considering two other cars (non Z), but a friend decided to sell this one. It seemed like a good deal for the most part, but the mileage is a little high and I am concerned about the warranty. He didn't buy the extended warranty. Being a first model year car, there are always little issues that pop up with time. I don't want to have to worry about that down the line.

Also, I have a bike and from what I can tell, there is no real way to use the car to transport a bike. Saris (graber) claims to have a roof rack that will fit, but I am skeptical about that. I am also concerned about driving the car when it snows.

If I sound like I am trying to talk myself out of the car you would be right. I love the car, but I don't want to resent it later when some of the compromises become an issue.

DrDisco,

A Z is definitely not good with a bike on it. Its a sports car and only for driving. The snow thing worries me too but just get some winter tires and a beater 2nd car.

As for the Z that your friend is selling you, I would not buy it. 17k mi is alot. Thats basically a year+ worth of miles. Plus no warranty. I couldn't find info in Kelly Blue Book for you though.
I don't want to offend you but if the person is your friend,, I would ask for a better price. I mean, I've seen dealers sell touring used models with 3k mi on it for about 2-3k less than MSRP.

Bottom line, go to Edmunds.com and do invoice search for car model and options. Go to nissanusa.com and search for exact model. Its only 2K difference but you get a BRAND NEW CAR that has bettery mileage warranty. 17000 miles. that is alot of miles. Imagine what ur friend did or what you would do driving a car for 17000 miles...See...not worth 27K.

If you do get a Z, you will enjoy it. Just watch out for the crazy people staring at it.

Thanks for the advice. I just need to do a little more soul searching and decide if the Z is the right car for me. I will have to see if I can bargain with my friend a little bit. If he doesn't budge perhaps that will help make my decision for me.

No such thing as out the door. He will still be paying at least $1000 come registration time. I dont mean to be rude but that is the BIGGEST sucker deal Ive ever heard. I paid $26,900 for my new 03'. People may be asking 27K for a used enthuziast but have been lucky to walk away with 24K. Sadly enough there is tons of people getting rid of their Z and if I were you I would offer no more than 24. Even two months ago a dealership was willing to sell a used enthuziast for 24,500. So whatever you do I would NOT take that deal.
