Credit Scores and APRs
I know there have been many threads on here talking about excellent rates at various lenders, but I'm guessing that these are for people with stellar credit, which many of us (including myself) don't have. I'd like to see a chart of credit scores and matching APRs that you guys have received so the rest of us can know if we're getting screwed or not.
thanks!
thanks!

i have read that this is an appropriate rate for someone with this score.
average Cali rates for 36 month loan:
500-589=17.760
590-624 =16.474
625-659 = 12.312
660-689 =9.477
690-719 = 7.198
720-850 =6.29
unfortunately its not a gradient, there are just steps! I have a 719

My FICO was 732 and the rate I'm getting is around 6% for 5 years. I think it's like 5.4 for 36 months. Peoplefirst rejected me though I think because I've only been working for a year and I've lived at this address for one year. Oh well. Oh yeah this is for up to 40k but I don't plan to use that much.

Credit score is not the full story. I have a very good score (740) but was denied credit from every lender I've tried except my dealer. The reason is that I have very limited credit history - two credit cards, that's it. Oh, and I just moved and just got my first permanent full-time job... So much for credit scores.

I got 5.19% from Nissan for 48 months. I don't know what my score is exactly, but I do know that lenders usually **** when they run it.
Peoplefirst was 4.75%, but I didn't want to bother with that just to save $4 a month ($192 over the life of the loan.)

Called Peoplefirst today. 60 months 5.49% don't know what my score is.
No loan fees, just walk in with a check good up to the amount I am approved for. The part I like best: If their rates go down between now and when my car arrives, I simply call them, and they lock me in at the lower rates. If rates go up, I stay locked in at my current rate. If my car comes in after their check expires (45 days from now), they will issue me another check for the last rate I was locked in at.
It is a win-win situation. I have leverage going into the dealer, I am already approved, and my rate can only go down from here.

You got a better rate for a 48 month loan than Peoplefirst, 5.49% (37-60 months). In fact yours is better than my Credit Union also. I got a 36 month from Peoplefirst for 4.75%. Took them exactly 15 minutes (as advertised) to call me back after I sent the application. The check showed up the next day around 9:30am. I wish the Z order is that easy. I am still waiting for my car that was scheduled to arrive at the dealer last Monday.
PS. I don't know my credit rating number, no need to know as long as I get approval treatment like this.

Peoplesfirst.com is great. I applied on a Saturday. They called me on the next day (Sunday) to say I was approved for 60 months @ 5.49%. I'm 24 and my FICO credit rating score was a 701. They put a check in the mail. I received it and it's good for up to $15,000, the exact amount I applied for. A nice check that you write the VIN number of the car on and there is no obligation if I decide not to use it... But I definitely will be.
My car came to $33556.64 and I will be putting down $18556.64 and the other $15,000 will be coming from the Peoplesfirst Loan.... CAN'T WAIT. Peoplesfirst was definitely great for me. Hope you all experience the same thing.

How did you get Peoplefirst to give you 4.5% while their advertised lowest rate is 4.75% for 36 months? I can use you tips.
