Wow this is a dumb Q im sure, I did a search for cruise control and turned up nothing. But I just bought an 04Z last week and It didnt have the owners manual, How the hell do u turn cruise control on, I see the light for it on the gauges but I dont see a button for it anywhere.

 

If you bought a Base Model, you don't have cruise control.

 

Get a free manual at Courtesy Nissan.

 

Do you have any buttons on the steering wheel? If not, then you don't have cruise control regardless of any lights on the dash.

 

+1, you probably have a base. If not, then there are probably other problems you are facing.

It was the performance package. Why would the light be there for it. Can i add it if i dont have it?

 

What does this "performance package" supposedly include? Generally as everyone said, if you don't have any buttons on your steering wheel you most likely have a base model. That being said, adding cruise control to your car isn't possible.

 

cruise on a sports car?????? mine has it, but really, come on, it get's used 1% of the time and that's when my grandpa wants to drive it....

 

Didn't someone JUST post a thread about being able to add cruise to a base Z?

 

You still didn't tell us if the car has buttons on the wheel. How about a spoiler? Any VDC or TCS buttons?

 

Im starting to think its a Base.....Grrrrr No spoiler, I didn't know that was an indication. I just assumed that if it was advertised as the performance then it was.....DOH..... The lessons of buying my first car. Live and Learn, And I realize its not something used all the time but the trip from atlanta back to florida after I purchased it would of been really nice to have.

Oh well.....Ive only had the car 2 weeks, but so far I am in love. All i really want to do is maybe get it repainted, and put in a nice Stereo/touch screen, And figure out what the best thing to do as far as making the head lights super white. Any suggestions on that? Is that something I could just buy from an auto zone or should I look else where.?

And if you haven't guessed cars aren't really my forté, Sportbikes are, But i really want to learn as much as I can about this car. The driver side window motor is gong bad, I found a thread on how to pull it and clean it, so I did that but unfortunately it didn't help, So ill be replacing that this weekend.

Im 23 if you must know, And I work very hard for this car, Ive wanted a Z for a long time. So now that I cat afford the Z and racing my bike I jumped on this one. Just looking for some advice not life lectures

I thought I had done enough. They said it was the performance model, But the were obviously lying.
Im disappointed but its nothing im gonna beat myself up on. its an 04 w. 50k miles for 12500 so cruise control isnt a huge loss I was just making sure I wasn't missing anything.

and LSD, vanity mirrors, homelink mirror, aluminum pedals, 18" wheels, and HID lights!

 

i think it has 18's the mirrors are vanity mirrors, I dont know what a homelink mirror is though.

Does anyone know if the 04 performance trim had CC? I couldn't remember if the order was
base , performance, enthusiast, or base, enthusiast, performance.

Either way, I think if you don't have CC (steering wheel buttons), then most likely you have base like everyone said.
