Default Traction Control & Fast Start

i always wanted to do a really fast start from a red light, but afraid to make the tires squeel and seem like an annoying teenager.

this may be a basic 101 question but should i have to worry about that if i have my traction control on?

Traction control has nothing to do with launching the car, it can be on or off and the wheels will still spin.

ya, with it on it will cut fuel and bog your motor when the wheels spin...making you look more like an idiot.

you got an auto, so first turn TCS/VDC off, then hit the brake and gas at the same time for the RPM to go up between 2500-3000 or so, then release the brake and FLOOR the gas.

do that often will wear out your brake. Dont try to do that if you see an RSX cause it will eat you alive

na bro, doing that will esp spinn the tires. if you break/gas ur car with tc off on an automatic Z at 2K+rpm, you will be sliding ALL over! trust me, ive done it. the best thing yo can do to prevent tire spinning on a launch is LEAVE TC ON, get wider tires with better grip and launch at 2K rpm. but make sure your tc is on. the Z just has too much power no to spin the tires. from a roll on you'll be fine, turn tc off and launch at high rpm. plus from a dig if your tc is on and kicks in, cutting ur throttle. the car wont bog to an extend making you look like an idiot. thats exaggurated. the car will bog once then the engine will scream. just try it and c for urself.

Find a backroad that's empty with plenty of room, and practice a few launches there. If it's a relatively safe and empty road that gives you the opportunity to play around with it a little and try different things to get a feel for how the car is going to react to throttle and steering inputs during launch.

And once again safe and empty area are key here. You don't want any other people, trees, poles, ditches, or other obstacles around to hit.

wow, you dont drag race do you?

you do know that traction control works by CUTTING FUEL dont you? that means as soon as the tires spin the fuel is cut and it bogs down the motor. That will in turn make someone look like a jackass.

I've forgotten to turn mine off and shifting from 2nd to 3rd it'll break loose and then the car cuts fuel, drops the rpms from 6k to 3k and the car falls on it's face.

Compared to the RSX, the 350Z is gay.

well idk what kind of tc sys you have that cuts throttle from 6k to 3....i have an HR Z. and mine only bogs for a second at most at the launch. it does not kick in while driving launching from a roll on. and yes it does bog if you launch with it being on but not to an extend you just mentioned "from 6K down to 3, making the car fall on its face" not the problem in the HR z's...
