my guage only reads 3/4 now when I fill. I have a busted fuel gauge, but I know Ive driven on --- for a good 60 -76 miles before my gauge acted up. I was literally out in the middle of nowhere.

you guys are either going broke or retarded. dont drive your vehicle on no gas. A. its just stupid, what if an emergency did actually happen or you run out of fuel and there is nobody or nothing around to help you.
B. yes there is rust in the bottom of alot of gas tanks. I personally take gas tanks apart almost everyday to replace pumps or put new lines in, always something and there is usually rust in the bottom of every tank. Im a mechanic at a dealership and believe me when i say this - by running car on E and sucking crap from the bottom of the tank you will plug up your pump A, fuel filter B, and if anthing passes after the filter you will likely need an injector flush

I don't know how far I drove but the light was on for a few days and I kept forgetting to go get gas. When I filled it up it was just over 18 gallons. I didn't think I was gonna make it to the gas station.
