I use it all the time, I mean when your left foot isn't on the clutch actually doing something, it's on the dead pedal. Now if I'm going to be accelerating very 'spiritedly' <-- ;-), I would probably just keep my foot on the clutch, ready for the next gear, but in all other instances, Yeah I use it a lot. Hell, don't you think it's there for a reason?

If my left foot isn't pressing/de-pressing the clutch pedal, its on the dead pedal (always). I only move it from there to move the clutch pedal or stretch my leg on a long drive.

I use mine all the time....I guess I sometimes put a little to much pressure on it during hard cornering since I broke the first one off....thank god they are cheap to replace.

Only time my foot stays on the clutch is when I'm driving a little...shall we say...aggressively? Other than that, if I'm not actually shifting, my foot rests on that dead pedal. Since I have to wear heels most of the time, it's the most comfortable spot.

I only use it when I want to talk to my PC
My microphone swith is in the dead pedal, other than that I just rest my foot on the carpet or hover above the clutch for fast shifts.

I was always taught that if you aren't in the process of a shift you should be on the dead pedal... Keeping your foot there keeps you located more correctly in your seat. You sense the front end of the car through the steering wheel, but motion of the back wheels of the car is transmitted to the driver by the seat. Being planted properly in the driver's seat makes you more connected with the road and able to sense sliding, etc.

It's definately a good habit to have your left foot instinctively on the dead pedal unless it's in the process of clutching. I use mine as a kickdrum to tap along to the music with.

Ever hit a large sweeping lef turns while quickly accelerating? I use my dead pedal during these to keep me in my seat, and properly aligned with the clutch pedal.
