I thought it was a ULEV. If not, then that's what I get for blindly beleiving what I read on a forum...

I dont think so...

if it were so would the maxima, altima, G35, fx35, murano, ect. but Ive never heard of any of them meeting those requirments.

its not BAD, but its not exactly a enviroment friendly type car.

The Z is LEV.. Check it on their website:

http://www.nissanusa.com/vehicles/Mo...tions/0,,30382||,00.html

It achieves this with a closed loop feedback system with a 3-way catalyst

According to this article from Nissan, the Fairlady Z (Japan) is U-LEV. "As of the end of January, 18 models are certified as U-LEVs, including the March (Micra), Moco, Elgrand, Cube and Fairlady Z (350Z). "

well my question is whats the difference between LEV and LEV2 and ULEV?

Im assuming that LEV2 and ULEV are higher emissions control than LEV... And i believe i did read some where that nissan will eventually make the 350Z in the USA LEV2. If this is the case its probably best to buy before that happens..

Or am i totally off here?

Just to steer you away from the RX-8, the only way they even got that car to pass Emissions period over here is by majorly gimping both the HP and the fuel economy. Though honestly neither of the cars are in the same class. If your looking more for a 2+2 you'd be better off getting the G35c. Though drive them all, but I think you'd be a little dissappointed in the performance of the 8.

thanks Poison123

RX8 catches my attention probably cause it's a new hot item and it's a 2+2 coupe

the lost of a couple of pony doesn't really bothers me

but the poor mpg doesn't impress me much either

G35C is just what i wanted but a little out of my price range right now

thanks for the tips my research goes on ...

Good luck, and ya I was looking at the RX-8 too because of the price, but the obscenely low mpg is what killed it for me and the fact Mazda still ain't tellin the truth.
