Damn, you didn't notice that until you decided to wash your car? Looks like the bandit was a major fail.

if they tried on both sides i really just think they tried to steal your mirrors.

I doubt it was an attempted break-in. What kind of idiot breaks into a car by trying to pry the mirror off when there is a perfectly good window that could be broken? Just doesn't make any sense. Probably someone just being a hater and decided to damage your car.

They were trying to shatter your window. I had my old Accord broken into this way....

They pry a screwdriver in between the glass and a panel at the front or back (front for yours...they used the back for mine) and apply prying pressure. According to the cop that came out to write up the report, it doesn't take much pressure to shatter the glass completely (he said he sees this method used all day long). Looks like the glass was stronger than the mirror trim in your case....in my case, I lost my entire audio system (DVD & screen, plus all speakers/amps...except for the brain to the screen...haha!), VAFC (which was the biggest pain because I had to rewire the ECU to work without it...the car wouldn't even start at first), and some random stuff...as well as needing a new window and trim panel because the trim panel will look like yours even if they're successful in breaking the glass.

Consider yourself lucky that you still have that Pioneer unit...

Not sure if my explanation makes sense...here's a pic to try and help:

Or they could just bring a bat with them and break the window

Sounds like that'd be easier
