Question Keyless remote question.

Not too sure where to post this, but I was wondering if anyone has a problem when you arm (lock) car after getting out, the horn is kinda loud. I get home from work early in the morning and don't want to make anyone mad. Is there anyway that this feature could be bypassed? My sister-in-law's Maxima does not make a sound when arming.

press both lock and unlock for a few seconds( go with 5-10) it SHOULD change something, but I cant tell you what, might disable the horn, might also disable the window feature tho...

pressing them again should revert back to the first setting tho.

Check the manual. There's a procedure to arm/disarm the alarm by horn + lights or IIRC just lights alone no horn. You can reverse anytime. So basically, you can choose whether or not to sound the horn on our stock alarm.

With my 350Z now having it for a year and one month.. I love it..
For WakaZ.. As you exit the car.. Manually lock the doors.. and close the doors to lock them.. I do this when I park at church..
Since the car draws enough attention by itself.. I dont want to announce it with a horn blast.. too..

if you manually lock the doors, will the alarm still be activated?

If you use the remote lock before all the doors are closed, the alarm will not sound the horn.

So exit the car, lock the doors, and close the door.

I bought my Z back in June and already my range on my key fob has gotten to the point where I have to be damn near on top of the fricken thing for it to work. Well lets just say maybe 30 or 40 feet which is unexceptable imo. I'll try replacing the battery but there is no way it should be weak already.

If you hold down the top and middle buttons for a few seconds (until the parking lights start blinking), the horn shuts off when you engage the alarm. But, when you disengage the alarm the parking lights will not blink each time you press the middle button to unlock your car. Your interior lights will come on if you have it set to do so.

So, if you reverse the process back : 1) You get a horn when you lock your car and 2) you get blinking parking lights when you unlock.

The choice is yours!!!!
