I have a good relationship with my dealer. My wife purchased her Maxima from them (same salesman I pre ordered with). They have been pretty good about letting me know what the status of the car is (delivery first week in Sept.) Keeping on this forum helps me to know more than they do. I also found out that they have a Nissan Factory rep at the dealership who handels pre orders...have called him several times about things like not installing the front plate bracket and adds to the order...they have been very helpful...don't be shy...call them with any questions..BTW they seem to be even more helpful once they know you have done your homework on this forum

I agree with AudioPat. I initiate the contact periodically, by email or phone, but when he gets back to me he is very friendly and has some more info to share. But I think for the most part he hasn't gotten any real news on my car's status since I placed the pre-order, just little tidbits, educated guesses, and some speculation.

I've never met mine in person. I did the whole preorder deal by phone, e-mail and US mail. He never has called or e-mailed me unsolicited but he does respond within a day if I initiate contact. They are just east of Pittsburgh about 80 miles south of me.

dr bonz, i'm in the same boat as you. i live in the bay area but ordered from a dealer in the seattle area, since i'll be moving there. i did my whole deal by phone, fax, and e-mail. my dealer doesn't contact me unless i call or e-mail him first, but he's usually pretty responsive. i've always known more than he does about the Z, but that's just because of this site -- i don't expect him to be obsessed with the Z, since he does have other cars to sell.

Hey pekkle, haven't chatted to you for awhile, My seattle dealer is the same, I swear I get more correct and pertinent info right here at jman's site..used to get good info from zisme or RxO at ZCAR.COM, but now there is just squabbling and rubbish and extremely immature childish behavior there. Are you still coming to the area in sept? Did you figure out where to live? You mentioned before , a trip to visit jmanz in spokane, I'm packed and ready for any road trip. Talk at you soon. I am not waiting patiently for my 350Z

I contact my salesman by e-mail and he has told me that very
few if any will receive their orders in August and that most will
be in Sept. He also said he was mailing me a model of the Z
from Nissan and to look for it within a week. I'll let you know,
he said there was some assembly required. I directed him to
this site and he was very impressed!

hey marczzz, where have you been? hehe. i'm moving to the area in mid-late august, since my start date is august 26. i deliberately chose that date so my first weekend would be a 3-day weekend (labor day) hehe. haven't found a place yet, but hopefully that won't be a problem -- my roommate is a seattle native and should know what to do.

Default My dealer hasn't a clue !!!

Every three weeks or so I go down to my dealer and update him on all the neat things I glean off this website ... like I had to get him to look at his production schedule to find out that my car has actually been put in the 'que' for real!

I did receive my two confirmations from NNA, but at no thanks to my dealer who misspelled my name and my email address on my original order. Oh well, I guess that's why we have forums like this one to help educate the masses !!!

Keep up the great work JmanZ !!!

I haven't heard a thing from my dealer, but after seeing what people on this forum are getting, I'm going to pay them a visit this weekend. I want my Z T-shirt! I'm also curious to see what they know about the car. When I was there buying it, none of the dealers really knew anything. Hope that's not still the case.
