New to the site.
hey everyone im new to this site, so please hang with me till i get the hang of this posting stuff.
I joined this site for a very unique reason. I was recently in a motor cycle crash that involved a very careless driver, driving a company van while working. I won't go into to much detail in fear of causing problems in the lawsuit.
Im going to update my true information in my profile when this is all over. I just want to keep this on the downlow for right now.
Cutting to the chase i had major injuries. Shattered knee cap, broken femur in 3 places broken arm in 4 places, fractured rib between the shoulder blades, fractured vertebre between there as well, a broken nose, and multiple bruses and operations to fix everything.
Before the accident i just starting going to school for automotive technology. When i was 3 months into the schooling, WHAM Accident happend.
From the injuries, i can never pursue it as a career for handicap reasons.
But the silver linning if any, is the settlement.
With this money i am going to pursue my dream car. I have budgetted 32K out of the money for a used car and mods to do. I looked on vehix.com and i can have no problem finding a Z in good condition and money left over to I have a general list of things "I" want to do but would really appreciate some suggestions and or directions to go in. I will def. post my stuff later to share but would like to get started this way.
I intend to document my progress on the car every step of the way on here.
so with all that stuff bein said, what do you peeps suggest is a good starting point.

true, i have done a bunch of research so far, but i do know in order to start getting a direction in your head you need to do an insane amoung of research to actually start getting a technical path as well as a $$$ path thats good as well.
the basics so far i know i first want to do turbo (either single or TT) and exhaust. if i do go turbo i want to get a kit that is very adjustable so i can safely run it on a stock engine. since my accident i don't really beat on a car any more and enjoy at the most spurts of acceleration on a public road. then later down the road to the internal engine work and bump up the PSI later.
oh yeah, this car isn't going to be a daily driver. garage kept and trailer pulled long distances

Welcome, but it has been said already run searches on all of your questions and they will be answered. Also when you do go turbo alot of the times the shop doing the install may be kind enough to do the gauges.

through COUNTLESS HOURS of research for Z's for sale, the parts I want to put on on my own and mapping out a technical and financial path.............i am finally ready to go pick my-damn-Z up already! I posted above explaining my story, about my motorcycle accident and how some stuipid broad texting on a cell phone turned right into my path, now i can no longer do my auto tech profession....blah blah blah......please read above........now toooooo the good news......
I found her 275 miles away from my home in pa for the right price, right mileage, right condition, right engine platform (VQ35HR).........almost feels tooooo right.
2007, metalic blue, manual trans, 12K miles, for sale by a private owner for 20K. some scratches and bumps on the fender and other stuff that i noticed, i got him down to $18.8K. will be doing the adventure this weekend to go pay him some cash from the budget i set a side (which got bumped to 35K)..
I thought i would share this now, im like a kid on christmas time right now haha....plans are starting to come together.

Yeah go to cars.com and enter your search parameters (if you want manual/auto) and you'll see whats out there, and what prices they're actually being sold for.
350Z is really the best performing sports car that any of us can afford realistically, plus it looks better than half of the cars we can't afford lol.
Sorry to hear about the accident, but as far as what you're looking for.........go to cars.com they've got everything.

Thanks its always a good idea to have a back up plan, ill check that site out. especially if i get there and the stuff i noticed in the pics are worse, and if the car drives like crap too. but im keeping my fingers crossed and i hope this is the one to buy, maybe once i get there I can do a little more negotiation. ahh well **fingers crossed** long drive tomorrow
