Home Garage Lifts
I was wondering if anyone has a home garage lift and what kind you have, such as scissor lift, mid-lift, low-lift, 2 post, 4 post etc...I've done a lot of research but i can't find a lot of customer reviews. the brands i researched are:
- eagleequipment
- nextag.com has a few on their site
- eautolifts.com
- gesusa.com
- pacetools
- dmfwakefield
- gregsmithequipment
- completehydraulic.com
- derekweaver.com
- challengerlifts.com
- american automotive equipment
- costco has them even haha
- directlifts
- bestbuyautoequipment.com
- bendpak lifts
- http://www.dannmar.com/dannmar-produ...ts/maxjax.html Just added in. Portable lift! Thanks! Price included on this site.
I am just comparing a lot of them to find the best deal and which one can be most versitle. So far I think its the scissor lift (low to mid lift) with a center clearence between the platforms for service to be done.
Any feed back on what type of lift they have and other suggestions to different lifts are welcome.

Depending on how wide and tall your garage is, I like 2-post lifts. I have two Bend Pak 2-posts and they work great. They don't get in the way when doing engine/transmission/tire/suspension work. Only downside is if your car is super slammed the lift arms will not fit underneath your car unless you jack the car up first with a separate jack. They are also rather tall and depending on which model you get they are wide. I forgot the exact needed specs but my Bend Paks require at least 4 inches of a concrete floor to be safe (10k posts). Heavier models require thicker concrete floors.
Scissor lifts are ok but they can get in the way when you're doing transmission work or exhaust work, ie: clutch job and most scissor lifts don't lift the car very high.
And just some more info for ya, I've owned my Bend Paks 2-posts for over 5 years. Never had a problem with either lift. I just lube them regularly. Hope that helps

I totally overlooked the aspect of how thick your concret needs to be!!!! Im going to try and find that out soon, thank you though, could possibly have dodged a major bullet.
