I ordered July and have confirmed production in October. Expect delivery 6-8 weeks after the order hits the production line.

Did the guy that previously held the spot have a VIN# or order# or even an estimated delivery date? Could the sales guy be working ya? Was he even fully informed as to what you were doing? Maybe he didn't know you were taking over a pre-order.

Whatever the case, I hope you get your car sooner rather than later!

Unfortunately, I think your fears may be justified. As far as I know, no preorder customers have been quoted a possible January delivery (maybe check Scafremon's tasty VIN soup). Doesn't the original preorder guy have at least the order number? (Sxxxxx, Txxxxxx, etc.) NNA seems to be willing to help reel these dealers in from what I've seen.

December or early next year sounds late, but you can't go by the date of order some people are getting cars that ordered in April before people that ordered in Jan. You need to get an order number from them it will start with a letter such as R, S, T, W and have 6 digits, with this they should be able to show you a printout that shows that order number with a production month.

The person who had the order originally might have this info, if not have him call 1800nissan1 and obtain it. This way you can track the order plus make sure they are not bsing you and really selling you a car that will be ordered next month when they can put new orders in and that way they have a preorder available for sale. Keep an eye on them, holler if you need help.

A May pre-order should not be a December delivery. No pre-ordered cars should be out at December - November latest barring problems.

Your dealer is either very misinformed, or lying to you. Ask for the build month and delivery month for your vehicle. He has this info. It won't list December if it is a true May pre-ordered vehicle, I'm 99% sure.

Laimbeer,

Actually, I have heard somewhat similar news on my end if it makes you feel any better. I placed my order in mid May, and at that time I was told likely an October delivery. (I find it hard to believe that a May order could be a Sept delivery, but you never know).

Just recently I got a call from a regional NNA rep. Been trying to get the confirmation letter sent to me as a collectable. Yet to receive it, however I did receive the secrets revealed packet so I know my order is in their system. While talking to the rep, he confirmed my car was scheduled for Sept production, and according to his sheet, December delivery. First time I had heard that. Seems like a long period of time for a car to be delivered after being produced. Could be a worst case scenario estimate. I'm not sure which to believe.

Either way, there's nothing I can do about it, so no point in getting stressed over it.

Hello everyone

Ill make a long story, I have taken over a preorder spot here in Miami FL. I paid 500 dollars for that spot. I went to the dealer with the gentleman who gave up his spot and we worked it out with the manager at the dealership. (Its the Maroone Nissan in coral gables) Needless to say the manager had no problems with the switch. He also tells me that the car should be available in september. Then the salesman comes over and we fill out the paperwork. yada yada yada... Then he tells me that the car could come at anytime... Between september and november. And im like what the hell??? He also tells me that there is no vin# for the car yet. SO he tells me to call back in a couple days so he can give me better information on the car. I call today and the guy tells me that the car will not be in my possession until DECEMBER!!! And im like what the hell do you mean!! He says that the original preorder was made in MAY. And that I wont receive the car until December... and he also says January is also a possibility. So it looks like im gonna be waiting for awhile. My question to you guys is this. Has anyone else here ordered their car in April and May who are expecting their car sooner??? By the way Im not that upsett because im still gonna get the car at MSRP. What ticks me off is that the Manager tells me one thing, and then I get a totally diffrent outcome with someone else. Im worried that they are getting my car and selling it to someone else OVER MSRP and making me wait for the next shipment....

I dont know, im very dissapointed

By the way Im getting the Silverstone touring, navi, the works.

I ordered my car mid april, and it should be here in a few days. I was at the dealership yesterday and it was in transit somewhere.

I am actually in the same boat as you. I ordered my car on May 30th and originally was told to expect delivery sometime in late September to early October. Since then the story has changed to a delivery date some in late November to late December. I called 1800nissan1 and was told that the last date given to me by the dealership was in fact the estimated delivery date but a worst case scenario. It looks like most people receiving their cars now are recieving them 1-2 weeks earlier than originally expected. Hopefully they are pumping them out faster than anticipated which would give us an earlier delivery date. I am with you man! Good luck, Mike

Good luck. It really sucks when dealerships pull dirty tricks like this. Make sure you make a lot of "noise". The squeaky wheel always gets the oil first. Sincerely, Mike (ex Z salesman)
