Default Dumb question about engaging reverse

simply how?

i haven't driven a 6 speed Z before and wondering how to engage reverse?

do you need to press the shifter down or simply all the way to the right?

thanks

It depends on the car. Some cars require you to move the stick all the way left and up.

A lot of IS200 owners I heard had issues with their reverse because it was so close to 1st gear. They would find out they're in reverse instead of first when they started moving the wrong way and in some countries the IS300 or IS200 has those reverse warning beeps that can be heard outside of the car.

it's just like when you're putting it in any other gears, except for that it's all the way to the... right. hmmm right, left?!!?! no right!

LOL

all the way to the right, but there is a safety lock that requires you to push DOWN(not back) on the shifter for it to enter the 4th position where reverse is. this keeps you from going into reverse when looking for 6th.

most cars have some form of this regaurdless of where the reverse gear is. you have to make an effort to hit it.
