Default Awesome.. Shop damaged front bumper and won't admit

I had a shop do a headlight lens restoration because I tried and failed and they were looking bad. I got my car back quickly looked at the headlights and they looked great. I drove a few blocks to school and looked more in detail at my car. I noticed the front right of my nismo v2 was scratched and scraped up past the paint so bad it shaved part of the fiberglass off.

I called them and they wouldn't admit it I am so pissed and damage to my car, even the slightest stuff, bothers me so much. Is there anything I can do? Pictures will be up later.

I am 100% sure it was them.

Keep pushing the issue, contact manager etc..... Otherwise the only other route is insurance.. Or file a police report.....

I was talking to the manager and was pretty persistent, he was nice and all . If I contact my insurance do you think my rates will go up if they end up fixing it for me? I really hate getting insurance involved..

No it wont go up.. But I usually get my bumper repainted for 380 or so.. It may not be worth it if your deductable is 500, meaning u will pay for the total anyways..

Yea that's what it is. I had some rock chips in it anyway and was thinking about repainting it, only now I have to skip coilovers and go straight to fixing my car because it looks bad. There seems to be a crack in it too after closer inspection, I think the impact from that angle caused it to crack.

Hopefully to fix the crack and the shaved part of the bumper, then repaint is doesn't cost me too much. I'm guessing 600 max?

This sucks. I have no proof they did it other than my claim.

Prob not 600, should be still around 400.. You should prob suck it up and get the coilovers.. Exterior will never be perfect, sorry to burst ur bubble but, soon as its painted, its exposed to being ****ed up again immediately..

I would touch it up, until your ballin wit chedda...

^yes, now its your word against theirs, whose to say you didn't do that after you left?

sucks. if a shop is going to be handling your car I would take before pictures and do a thorough inspection before accepting the keys.

good luck either way. sorry about your bumper

My dad has a dealership with a complete mechanical/collision shop - and we always ask customers to inspect vehicles before leaving. If there was some sort of accident, we would tell the customer before they even realized it.

We would never buy the customers word about a scrape if they left and then came back. (All our employees are pretty honest and will tell us in any case if they scuffed a vehicle)

Insurance is what you need to do, I've had a very similar incident happen to me, I even went up to the home office of Nissan and explained the issue, but it doesn't do any good, they've all got each other's backs. File a claim with your insurance is your only hope to get any help.
