Still, i think i did a great job ( pats self on back) and theres no need for a new diy or thread on this.. so here it is.

Used the right stuff, the right technique, and used primer on all parts.

everything was fully disassembled before wraping as well.







and the results?
Zero gaps, zero weave mis match, zero clumps or gaps or lose and non sticky edges.

I really am liking this... I think I want to do before Zdayz.. where did you get the 3m? how long did it take? Did you do the top of the pod gauges too?

@ Zchad.. customer/friend supplied the vinyl.. ebay/metrorestyling vendor..
he gave me his gauge pod today at lunch.. you cannot drive the car w out it attached.. your odometer wouldnt roll fwd.. so0 they tied it to the alternator regulator circuit.. = freeway hov lane parkling spot and a tow truck... ask me how i know.

I will say its easy, but its not. you will need plenty of practice, especially on that shifter.
I have practice, so i can say its easy. lol...
Just dont want ppl think it just slaps right on there.. totally doable tho.. was fun aside from constantly burning my hands as i heated and stretched.

I would agree that it does take practice. I purchased 2 feet of the 3M carbon fiber vinyl wrap hoping to have enough to just do the interior door handles and areas around the air vents on the doors, around the steering wheel and maybe do some trim here and there but I figured I actually had enough to do the center console. Well, after 3 failed attempts on the door handles and 1 failed attempt on the steering wheel I hardly have any left lol. I still would like to do this on my center console but man I'm just not good at it. I used the heat gun and stretched the stuff on the door handle but after a while it just came back up and started tearing in the middle. Luckily enough it's on the inside of the driver side handle so you can't see it if unless you're the driver and you look really close. At some point I'll try this when I get time but I feel like I'd just be better off painting it or getting the real carbon fiber center console for 450-500 bucks.

Looks great. I also purchased some 3M 1080 CF to give some nice subtle accents to go with my silver metallic vinyl interior I did last year. Pics will be posted once I'm done.

Man, I wish the owner would have looked to swap panels before you wrapped them. I would have been willing to trade parts + cash for non-scratched parts. The previous owner of my car scratched all mine up.

Now I know why u guys complain..its unreal how terrible that finish is. It should have been a recall for SURE.

Bummer. Yeah, they scratch really easily. I like the texture, though, and don't want to sand/repaint them. I think they look somewhat cheap when done like that. I guess I could do a soft-touch vinyl wrap. I know they make that.
