It's to keep a cat in the system, helps for emissions testing etc, and a lot of people don't like the smell of raw engine fumes.

Besides, it *is* better for the environment

So then why not just run a cat where the factory one is located? Like a Berk?
instead of the ART pipes?

Because the ART pipes don't lose the same power/torque as regular test pipes. On top of that, as confirmed by a few tuners, there seems to be some benefit from moving the cat away from the engine.

all exhaust responses are spot on with my thinking! with the xyz pipe you can get 3 different attachments that bolt right up, a high flow cat, a resonator, or just run straight pipe. I chose the hfc because I wanted to run test pipes and after some research (yes the search function does actually work here ) found that the art test pipes were pretty much second to none so I called up concept z performance and talked to joe and told him what I wanted and asked him if he could make me a deal and he did! put my order together and I should be receiving it soon. The reason I chose the hfc option is because I would still like to have a cat on my car (for legal reasons being as how I live in PA) but since the test pipes were going where the stock cats were originally obviously I couldn't put one there. That is another reason I chose the xyz pipe in fact, so I could still have the hfc and utilize the benefits of test pipes

Infamous DEPO black headlights.

Much better than the 04 stock headlights.

Haven't really had a chance to throw it around any turns yet but just driving normal I can already tell it's stiffer combined with the coilovers too

If you go synthetic I highly recommend Amsoil 5w-30 , but would also go Mutol 5w-40. Our engines like the thicker oil.
Rotella T6 FTMFW.

High zinc content = WIN

also,

Is it PAO or ester based oil? Because I'll only use Ester oils, harder to break down from high heat temperatures. I'll def look into it if ester. Shell always is top notch.

You're not going to like it but it's actually a group III oil. Neither PAO or ester. But the used oil analyses are REALLY good. Like, incredibly good.

Rotella oil has been known to go for millions of miles in diesel applications, they modified its formula for passenger cars and turns out the shear resistance was incredible. The oil can take quite a beating and still be perfectly lubricating everything.

It has a ZDDP of 1200 PPM I believe. More than any other oil I've read about... Which is crazy good for lubrication.

My Z got some new lingerie today Just got em put in, and put them on hole 3 in the front, 2 in the back. 82% stiffer than stock up front, 125% in rear. Handles like a dream, especially with the differential. No pics of the diff, that went in a few weeks ago. I replaced the bushings on the sway bars before they went in, and also installed 2 pairs of aluminum collars to keep the bars from sliding -- heard this was a minor issue with the Hotchkis sways since they're hollow and don't have welded collars. Install was a breeze, one of the best mods I've ever done, and the difference is certainly there.

Got a great deal on em!
