Finished the last bits of the center console. No more rubber stuff - Black on Black

I'm not going to put in the HU bezel until I get the USB port and the 4A charging port put in. And.... I do have a few touch-up spots to fix.

Later this week, I try my hand at using a clay bar. That should be interesting.... I'm not known for my exterior detail work. I can make pretty machines, but body and paint??? I don't know.

Does making it back home in one piece from Zdayz count as doing something for the Z?

also bought a new jack, a creeper and few other bits to make working easier. cleaned her up inside, engine bay, exterior for the first time in a while and drained a little bit of oil. was a bit too much added.
All looks good. I could use a second jack that works.

Personally, I'd get a spare set of pads just for events like driving the TOTD. For daily use, get some pads that don't give off a lot of brake dust. For that reason, don't buy racing pads.

John, no experience with but I'm thinking of doing the Akebono upgrade from ConceptZ on my '03. But it's not a pressing thing right now as I wanna take care of the clutch-that-I-fear-and-loath on the Niz.

Tail, eh? Bucket list drive for me.....

My 1st year on the dragon I was completely stock. I realized what brake fade was.

I'm not the fastest driver on the dragon, but the akebono brakes, stabilizer bars and lowering springs made my car a different animal, not to mention only using 2-3rd gear on the dragon as not to use the brakes much.

If I were you find some big brakes before next year.

SmoothZ, Chad and Mic-thanks for the input! Ordered the StopTec grooved and drilled rotors and new pads from Z1. Should arrive in time to take the ZR on anniv trip with the wife this weekend.

I have high expectations with this new front setup. We will hit some mtn roads and find out. Worse case scenario I've still got time to go BBK before next year.

It also helps to change your brake fluid and upgrade to DOT 4 (higher boiling point).

OK, not sure if this even qualifies to be posted but....

Weeks ago, bought new wheels, installed 'em and was sick of the unsightly hub hole as the wheels came sans caps....

So, I took an intermediate (cheapa$$) step and got these for $12 or so and semi-snapped 'em in...

Ehhhhhh...... but then guilt set in.... "didn't put 'em on my Niz" and they were kinda loose, so, I sprung for these (despite my adamant whining I'd not drop big bucks on these wheels after getting them cheap and then having to fork out $140 for the special-apparently-made-of-precious-metals-but without-the-gold-plated-bling-look lug nuts.)

So now -after depleting my PayPal account - I've got genuine-faux "Volk" caps (AKA "Folk caps")!! And how 'bout that! They match my genufake Folex watch I bought on the streets of Hong Kong!

I mean, like, these babies cost me a WHOLE, uhhh, twelve-dollars and ninety nine cents!!!! And FREE shipping too!!

G'wan, I can take the flames.... got my Nomex leisure suit on.

Mic

PS (Pretty Seriously): With the money I saved, just bought something fun for the '03 which WILL be an appropriate post in this thread.... AND something for my DD Volllllllvo.

What did I do for the Z today? Nothing major, but it's major to me. I actually got to drive it into work tonight! It's been rainy for almost 2 months and working overnight I get a lot of condensation on it and then the trucks going around the plant cause it to be damn near muddy when I leave and it runs off it.

The small things.

Failed at front brakes. Wheels off, check. Calipers off, check. Rotors heat-welded to hub.

Luiqid wrench, pounding for an hour (hammer, not beer) nada. Turns out I need a course 6x15 hex bolt to back it off. That'll teach me to do homework before getting the jack out. #fail

I will finish my new StopTec pads and rotors tonight. It's me or my old rotors, one of us will not survive this day.

I use rubber mallet, and I hit that damn rotor like it was an Isis member that just injured an innocent person.

I mean beat the hell out of it!! If you are weak use the heel of your foot solid pressure kick and it will come off.

If its the rear be sure e-brake is not engaged!
