What have you done for your Z today?
The carbon hoods, depends on brands, models, dry vs wet, but most of the cheap ones we see, mine include, actually weights more than oem.
I actually bought mine for the same reason you did, it has vents and move hot air better. And i like the looks.
Over all, im happy with mine, and the performance i get with it is more than worth the extra weight

I have already had this discussion with my friends that build cars for a living.
the cost for hood scoops and hood louves is not worth it for the minor cooling that does pretty much nothing. on a hot day when your driving the engine bay temp wont make much of a difference.
even if you were to install hood scoops and louves your engine bay temp would drop a mere 10 degrees but that doesnt mean the engine itself will drop in temperature as well. so that means your engine can run the same temp even though the engine bay temp drops 10 degrees therefore not really solving the problem.
liquid cooling by creating a much better flow for coolant in the engine will yield better results for the money spent versus air cooling which doesnt do much the hood vents to me is just a placebo effect.
because at the end the engine itself it what is moving your car and that is the temperature you want to be monitoring.....
I wouldnt expect someone who dropped off their car to have the professionals to do all their installations to understand....lol
a $700 dollar carbon fiber hood with vents wont do as a efficient job as spending $700 dollars on a bigger radiator, pathfinder mod, and taking the entire engine apart machining the block for vq35hr headgaskets....which will do a better job at the end of the day.
