Default got pulled over for smoked tail lights

I'm driving home, cruise control @ 64mph... LEO pulls up behind me and turns on his lights. I signal and pull over. I am given a warning about my tail lights being too dark for the driver behind me to see me signal, I'm thankful because I only get a warning. LEO walks back to car, I signal to pull out into traffic.... because its rush hour I must sit about 40 seconds before I can merge into traffic. I get home and check just how hard it is for driver behind me to see my signal and I realize that's it's not even in my tail light.... I have a seperate bright AMBER signal that only a blind man wouldn't be able to see and if they were THAT blind, they probably shouldn't even be driving.

I don't want to change my tails because I have a black car and the smoked lights just finish the effect.

Ohhh, had he asked that question, then it would have been easy....

Leave them on and risk getting tickets, take them off and not get hassled by the LEO.

Obviously, somebody cared - he got a warning.

Leave them on. Most they can do is give you a fix-it ticket, no? They give you a ticket, you swap lights with someone temporarily, get it signed off, and go back to your awesome tinted tail lights (which I have too, by the way.)

Leave it on and wait till someone rear ends you. Then when the sue you they will find that warning on record. But hey, it finishes the look

Dont get me wrong, I like the blacked out tail light look. But today, you just cant leave yourself wide open to liable like that.

They can fine you as many times as it takes, as long as you keep the taillights on there, they can pull you over for having illegally modified lights. Don't be an idiot. It's "not safe," according to the fuzz, so your "double jeopardy" theory doesn't hold water.

JayZ is obviously kidding, if he had any understanding of what double jeopardy was, then he would have to be. It is not your turn signal. It is illegal to have you tail lights tinted to where you cannot see the reflectors when it is dark.

you need to read the law and see what the distance is for your state, I know in texas your taillights have to be visible at night from 1,000ft

+1. I was pulled ouver for the same thing. Florida law I think says it has to be visible from 500ft.

I found a cop to sign off on the ticket, but he was being a d-bag and was stating that no matter if it IS visible from that distance....any mod to the lights is illegal. I think its all a bunch of bs.

I've had 5% all around for 5yrs and have never had a problem with that. i say pay the ticket and keep them tinted

Guys, he got a warning, not a ticket. He doesn't have to pay anything. Just leave them on until you get a ticket. Warnings do not stay on your record, they never are even recorded. Cops can't see previous warnings.

Honestly if a person rear ends you then there stupid. How can someone not see a car moving slower?? It plain stupid. Honestly if they cant see you slow down then they have no business driving because they FAIL at driving.
