It's great for resale value...

Seriously, collectors with money will pay anything for something they really, really want. Look at Todd Macfarlane - he paid millions for McGwire's 70th home run ball (a piece of rawhide with funny stitches) mostly because he COULD.

Here's to emotion driving purchase decisions. And good for the charity.

That's ok. I didn't spend 95k. I think this price is too much. Anyway, I save this money for next car.

I told a buddy of mine that it's gonna be 85K to 100K, but will probably not go over 100K. I watched it go from 80 - 95K in the last few seconds, wow.

I guess someone really, really wants that first Z. Nissan should have done some extra nice stuff to that one though. Like the last Prowler went for like $170K, 125K or so over MSRP, but they did some nice unique interior touches, had the mini-hauler that hitches behind it that matches, etc

Some people have just way too much Money!

I see that they are going to offer the last z-28 coming off the Line on Ebay the weekend.

I wonder what that will fetch?

Hey you gave it a great shot. And by bidding as much as you did, you raised a bunch of money for pediatric AIDS research without spending any of your own. That's not bad for a day's work. And even more importantly, you got the bidding up close to my guess of $101k. J/k. Seriously, Tako, you did a good thing, you forced that guy to spend a lot on the car and you helped raise money for a good cause.

My guess is the winner is a dealer. I think he has put 100k as maximum bid, that's why his one is 100 bucks above mine.......

Well it went for lower that my predicted 125k, but I attribute that to the fact that it wasnt tax deductable.

Im a little bummed Tako didnt get it, but that means he can afford another Tuscan now.

My only comment is that the winner is a master "sniper". Put in a bid 8 seconds before the auction ended, giving no else a chance to outbid.

I think he had max bid at 100k. That's why as soon as I put 95k, it went up to 95.1k

I really think you were going to win it Tako oh well there always a bigger fish in the sea.If that car is undriven and garaged it will be worth alot someday. But the that is just to much money for vin #1 I though 70-80k tops.Nice collectors peice but way out of my league.

tako, it may have been 100K but if you look at the times in the bid history, it looks like he put in his last bid 15 seconds after yours. That only gave you 8 seconds to notice that you were out bid and then decide whether to try to raise him (or her).
Anyway, you put up a good fight and probably made the winner pay more than they wanted to.
