Default window wont close...

so Im in my car, windows down driving home.

i get home put the window up. it goes up, then comes back down halfway as it would if you used the remote to open both windows(I assume its normal for the window to come down half way with the remote not all the way, right?)

anyway, I put it back up again... it comes back down.

odd, open the door and try it, same thing.

turn off the car, get out, try and close the windows with the key, goes up, back down....

for now I closed it as much as I could without it being fully up and thus coming back down.

so... am I in for a trip to the dealer or what?

That exact same thing happened to me today! It did it about 5 times, then all of a sudden it stopped. It felt like when I clicked it up, the button would hit the very top, then push itself back down somehow. Maybe try just holding the lever 1/2 way (don't auto it), but if it doesn't get better, warranty.

The window will go all the way down with the remote. Sounds like there is a problem with the anti-pinch feature maybe. I'd definitely take it to the dealer for warranty work, cause by the time you get there it won't happen again.

yeah the problem is solved now, tho they still only go half way down.

I never use the feature so I dont really care about that, I used it for the first time a few days ago really just to see it happen. and the window has worked find since then. just not right then.

but it works again, so Ill stay away from the dealer, heh

This has happened to me 3 or 4 times since I've had my car (25K miles now).

Basically, it looks to me like the window is coming off the track somehow and is a little crooked when it goes up. Therefore, part of the window hits the roof even though the rest of it isn't all the way up yet. This makes the car think that something is being pinched and so the window goes back down a bit.

I've been able to push down on the window by hand (sometimes it takes a couple tries) and then roll it back up. This fixes the problem (for a while anyway).

Remind me not to get a 1st year car next time....

The funny thing is, I still love the car.

This is happening to me as well on passenger side, and I'm in the process of getting it fixed. My dealer is saying that the motor/electronics module is not holding memory. I can get the window to roll up if I only use the manual mode(i.e. not flipping the window roll up lever all the way, just moving it a little bit). If I try to use the automatic mode it it gets to the top and comes back down half way. The dealer has tried everything to fix it, and the lastest thing is to replace the motor/electronics module. It should be installed tomorrow. I keep everyone updated.

Nope that doesn't work, but that isn't the point. I shouldn't have to go through a six step procedure to close the window when I'm leaving the car! This doesn't surprise me though. As many times as I have had my door ripped apart to replace and fix things I highly doubt it will ever work perfectly again.
