Chicago Z Drought
It seemed like it was raining Z's in Chicago earlier in the week, mainly at three dealers: Star, Woodfield and Gerald Naperville. No new deliveries in the past few days and my dealer, Arlington hasn't gotten a single car.
Anyone heard anything? Do the trucks only roll on certain days to certain dealers? I was really hoping to have mine for the long weekend but now it looks like next week.

I know exactly how you feel. We are in the same damn boat and its driving me crazy.
Especially since I was given an expected delivery date of around LAST WEEK sometime!
The weather has been so nice in Chi town, I've been dying to take it out and cruise LSD once it comes in.
With my luck, it will be -20 and 7 feet of snow when it does

There is a redline at Gerald in North Aurora that is being brought back today at 3pm with the aftermarket leather installed. I will be there with camera and I will send the pics to J to have him post them or whatever. The dude is having the 2 tone leather installed. This is the best I can do until I get mine.....
North Shore had a Chrome Silver Touring this AM that I wanted to check out, but when I called to confirm it being there, the lucky SOB that ordered it was finalizing the paperwork...BTW, was told he ordered last November! Also found out my build date isn't till September! Still a late October ETA.

i got a call from marketing rep from NNA in the midwest.
she wondered if i was going to the windy city z event, i said i would be if my z had not been delivered so i could check it out.
she then asked me that if i had my z would i like to be part of the unvailing and drive it around the chicagoland motor speedway track.
i said sure, if i had the car, i would participate. then she drops the bomb, she says, well, you will have your car before the event, so can we count on u to participate? i ask, how do u know, she checks her database and says, the car is on a train/truck bound for chicago, should arrive b4 the 8th of sept. i said r u sure, she says she used to work in distribution and she knows the system.
your vin is close to mine, so we might be on the same train/truck. i think we shall have it this coming week.
can you say, chicago, chicago, that toddlin town!

Thanks for the update chitownZ. That makes me feel better. I actually talked to Mary in marketing about the event on Monday. She sounded fairly confident that I would have my car in time. I was going to call her on Tues if I hadn't hearding anything. My VIN is in the low 1400's. Where is yours? Star Nissan has 1353 in inventory.

After seeing pics of silverstone from other people picking up theirs, it looks even better than I imagined. I got a Silverstone performance coming.

I just came back from a wedding in Chicago last weekend. Actually, I guess it was near Northbrook. I've never been outside of the Chicago airport before. Nice town. It's odd to see beach volleyball being played by a lake....not to mention seeing the Chicago skyline start right by the lake. Overall, I was pretty impressed, but the thought of having freezing winters followed by burning summers doesn't excite me.
Didn't see any Z's their either while I was there.

This is truly bizarre rouxeny. I was in a wedding in Norwich, CT last weekend. I had a great time except for all the money I lost at the Mohegan Sun Casino. We lived in Newington when I was a kid.

Frank, again I stopped by to see "Brad" @ our dealership. He kept saying Monday, but again monday is Labor Day and no shipments on Monday, but he said they are going to have "4" on the truck. Sounds like I'll be seeing you.
Unfortunatly I can't take delivery untill I sell my current car, they are going to hold it for up to 2 weeks if I need to untill I sell my 2k Eclipse (all options).
If I sell it soon no worries, but as soon as it comes in there might be a Super Black /Charcoal sitting in the showroom for a week or two. Under lock and key and specific instructions by me.
Getting down to the wire, anybody want to buy a 2000 Eclipse GT Silver/Black in perfect condition?

Good luck selling your car. Was the trade in value at the dealer really bad? If it's close to what you can get selling it yourself, remember that you'll save on sales tax on the Z by trading it in.

Well, one car showed up in my dealer's inventory today and thank god it's mine. Maybe they are getting a delivery today. Unfortunely, I don't keep $35k under my mattress, so I'll wouldn't be able to pick it up today even if it does come in.
My car is listed with slash guards, which I didn't order. It's not on my order sheet or confimation letter. I wanted to add them anyway, so maybe if I make a stink, I won't have to pay for them.
I'll keep you posted on my delivery.

Hey Chicago Z fans. I had delivery setup for approx 9/13 and looked this morning and saw my vin# posted to their inventory at Bill Kays Downers Grove Nissan. Calling dealer now see if actually in or just showing up and will be in next day or two.

I'm hoping for delivery tomorrow too. I guess I'll be extending the long weekend by an extra day. Let's hope we all get ours in time for Sunday's event.
There was some talk of meeting up Saturday night. Let's all touch base in the middle of the week to see where our deliveries stand.

Im from Downtown but i ordered, in NW INdiana i want to be a part of this Z car event is it invite only. What to i need to do to get in i am expecting my PPw touring on 9/13
