Default What's my 350Z worth?

Hello, everyone!

I've had my 350Z on the market for a few weeks now, and haven't gotten any feedback. So, in an effort to possibly get a better idea as to what I should do, I'd like for some of you to provide me your opinions on what the car is worth.

https://my350z.com/forum/cars-for-sa...-modified.html

^ That is the listing in the marketplace.

I believe there are a number of reasons why I haven't been getting any responses, likely:

A. With winter rolling in, it is the wrong season to sell a 350Z.
B. The car is automatic, and people seem to hate automatic.
C. The car is equipped with some very expensive audio equipment, causing the price to be a tad high.

What're your opinions on this, and what do you think it's worth?

If it were me I would part out the mods and then attempt to sell it in stock form. I like the speaker set up BTW.

That's what I'm thinking as well... I just wanted to avoid having to put forth all the labor to take it out, after doing just that a few weeks ago to, well, put it all in. Besides, I love the car the way it is now, I'd like to think that someone could appreciate it for what I made it into.

Anyways, thank you. I believe I'm one of the first to have employed a ten-channel amplifier setup; makes me feel proud not just because it was an idea I thoroughly pieced together but also because the end result is even more impressive than the idea itself.

Not to sound biased, I'm just very happy with the way the car sounds. Blown away, in fact. It is without a doubt the best sounding car I've ever heard, which is amazing considering we didn't change the interior aesthetics at all.

yeah ive been watching your sale ad for a while, curious to how much itll go for because i have a 2006. go ahead and take audio out now, the odds of finding someone who truly wants it and is willing to pay for it is next to none

Do you think 18k is a reasonable asking price for the car without the audio? I'd leave the other aftermarket bits like the front bumper and wing, the wheels and the Python 990.

No, that's the thing. I'd at least expect people to low-ball me. I'm not even getting any response whatsoever.

Unfortunately mods are not worth much when selling your car (the exception is wheel/tire upgrades). Engine modifications are often viewed as negative, suspension upgrades are neutral (but you never recapture your investment), and A/V upgrades do not add much value to your car.

The truth is a Z with upgrades and custom equipment will sell for about the same price as a stock Z. The only advantage you have selling a Z with custom items installed is that it will potentially sell before the same Z that is “stock.” And, you cannot depend upon this since many buyers are wary of mods that don’t work.

When selling your Z, do not assume you will get more $$ if the car is modified. In fact, your mods could reduce the car’s value in the marketplace.

For the few times I was unfortunate enough to be caught in winter weather when I was driving my Z, I can only surmise that the Z, to put it nicely, doesn't specialize in snowy situations.

Other than that, I always put the car away during the snowy season and loathsomely carpool to school and work. I'll be doing much of the same with the 'Vette.

I am some what of a realist when it comes to buying and selling cars, but it's all location based. I also don't strive to get the most $$ as possible, but rather a quick sale for what someone would pay for it. My time is worth a lot to me, and when it comes to selling a car, if it's priced just right, you will get a lot of lookers, a lot of time wasters.. you need it priced so that someone would be eager to jump on it as it's just under market rate.

If I was selling your car, I would put the electronics back to stock, sell off the electronics for as much $ as possible, maybe down-trade+cash any of the other higher value aftermarket parts such as the LMGT4's, and I would sell the car for under whatever the cheapest comparable 06 enthusiast AT with similar mileage in my area.

if I was personally paying over 17k you better believe I would find an 07+ for the HR. the deals can be found if you look hard enough (savvy buyers and dedicated only, rare to find the 07s/08s around 18k but I have seen a handful of them). I would probaby try to get 16k for the car.

might not be what you want to hear and you might have more patience then I do. sorry to hear about your scenario and I hope you enjoy the vette!

a. Its Christmas and people are charging their credit cards to the max.

b. Vehicle interest rates are excellent, but loan qualifications are stringent. A lender will want 20 percent of wholesale down. Or 20 percent of $16,000 or $3,200. For $22,000 the buyer must come up with $9,200 cash.

A buyer can walk out of a dealer with a new 370Z ($30,000) with $6,000 down.

c. Its winter and the first snowstorm will soon hit the North East. Essentially a buyer is looking at putting the car in the garage until spring.

you also have to remember outside of being winter, that we are in a huge recession, and it's right before christmas, not a lot of buyers out there, you have to entice them if you want to move it during this time frame.

I got 16 grand for my base 06 on trade last month. I think your price is fair, but I also don't think you'll get much if any action. It IS a good price, it's just the wrong time.

AT cars are not that popular here with hardcode enthusiasts. Try selling it locally, somebody will buy it for his wife or girlfriend.

You're in NY. I doubt anybody buys a sports car this time of year.

Nobody buys a modded car because you haven't picked the exact mods they want. Take the mods out and sell them separately.

Keep in mind this is all new equipment.

Each amp sells for $1,000 from authorized dealers, $750 from unauthorized (no warranty)

Each sub sells for $189 authorized, $129 unauthorized.

About six hours of labor, some 3/4" MDF, some pollyfill, black vinyl and a solid 1/8" sheet of brushed aluminum went into the box. Normally we'd charge around $800 for an enclosure like this, in a customer's vehicle.

Make me an offer.

REMINDER - this isn't the Marketplace. If you want to sell your Audio setup, post a thread where it belongs.
