I was thinking of replacing my lic. plate frame with something new. My first thought was putting:

a guy i know has "my other ride is your mom" on his license plate frame. of course, his car is a beater and he's not particularly worried about pissing people off.
the first thing i did when i got my car was toss the dealer frame. i've got my chrome and blue UCLA bruins frame, which i think looks pretty good on the chrome silver. if i didn't have that, i'd probably get a nice "350z" frame. all i can say is, be classy, and let the car speak for itself.

I designed my own out of brushed aluminum.

It is a fairly basic frame, but the bottom area has the three dots, then the Z, then the three dots again like on the rear strut bar.

I had changed the orientation of the dots and made the three dots on the Z as little protrusions instead of indentations, but I think it will look OK.

Unfortunately, the machine shop that is making them for me has been very busy for the past few months, so they haven't been able to make them yet.

Once I get them I'll post some pictures and find out how much they would cost to make.

Here is a thread where I was discussing an early iteration of the design.

What about advertising the website address on the frame? Everyone is always commenting about if there were more folks familiar with the site, the more power we as a group would have battling Nissan and Bose.

I want a frame because our forefathers fought the British and our fathers fought in WWII just so we could have freedom of choice.

Even though I think you should have a frame, I will fight for your right as an American to not have a lic plate frame on your Japanese car. Is that a good enough reason for you?

God Bless America!

a little melodramatic isn't it? i was just wondering if it was all for aesthetic reasons or if it was to conceal the screws or use one of those "anti-radargun" ones or what?

i understand thta some people like them and think its more streemlined but to me it just adds yet another thing on and attracts more attention to the plate which is ugly anyway. i'm glad you want a frame to express your freedom of choice guaranteed through British and WWII wars but what about WWI or Civil war or Korean War or any of those other ones? Do you put blackouts on your lights to honor those? haha just joshin' with ya

Just joking with you. This thread is to be taken lightly anyways. FYI, I am debating on just going plain too but I am considering all options.

Saw a car yesterday (not a Z...think it was a BMW or Lexus) with a back plate having no frame. The background of plates in my state is white, and the plate was attached with four white, not metal looking, screws that blended into the plate background. It looked so classy...much better than with a frame.

I saw a very clean looking frame at the dealer.

Brushed aluminum with NISSAN brushed just a little bit more to kinda pop out at you.

Smoked license plate covers look great on silverstone...CS?
