I emailed him lol. This is what he had to say:
me: would like to know how you are making 390+ to the rear wheel with those bolt on engine mods. You know that is a lie. At best, you are making around 240/250 to the rear wheels. Just letting you know, that is false advertisement.
him: You don't think you can bolt on 100hp if the work is done right?
me: No, there is no way man. A fully built 3.5 VQ engine (I'm talking about internals and everything) plus bolt ons can only put out a max 320rwhp. With the mods you have listed, you're only looking at around 240-250.
I have an 06' Z. I first went the naturally aspirated route... Straight pipes, plenum spacer, MREV2, light weight pulleys, full exhaust and a tune. I had a max of 255 rwhp. With a stock internal motor which is what you have, you have to go forced induction to make anywhere near that kind of power.
There is already a thread about you and your "claims" on www.my350z.com
Just don't give people false hope with telling them you have that kind of power when you knows it's not true.
him: The car comes stock 287 hp, so are you trying to tell me I've LOST HP by putting those parts on?
him again: I just read the listing (which my brother did for me) he left out a vital piece of information... It doesn't have a cold air intake on it anymore, I put a stillen supercharger on it 2 months ago.
me: Well, the 287 hp is at the crank. This means that when you dyno it, you're measuring the power at the wheels, not the crank. You lose HP due to the drivetrain. So what you are actually putting down at the wheels from a stock Z is around 220 or so. The 3.5 VQ doesn't respond well to bolt on's. The bolt on's you had listed only add probably around 20 whp if that. So, in terms of your 287, your engine is probably making 307 at the crank and as I have said before around 240-250 (at max) at the rear wheels. Now, a supercharger would make a difference, but depending on the stage it is will determine the HP output. But, A stillen supercharger requires a modified hood in order to fit over the supercharger itself. Also, if you had the Stillen supercharger, the Kinetix plenum wouldn't fit. So now it seems like the whole listing is false.
sounds a bit fishy :0
