Question Should I get a body kit or not?? (FYI I hit a deer)

Ok here is the deal, just to let all of you know I am one of the young lucky owners but my luck ran out, I was driving back from a friends in our residential area and story short one of those things called deer decided to run full speed into my passenger side while i was doing around 35-40mph. Anyway the problem is this:

My passenger fender is dented, bumper is broken, splash guard is broken, the screws and mounts for the passenger fender to bumper assembly, and headlight assembly are all gone (along with the mounts). the hood is dented and bent and we didn't file a claim to insurance (I know we should have)

I felt a N1 body kit would look acceptable since it doesn't shout rice.
The thing is I know cars, and maybe not everything about the Z yet but I can learn. I love everything about them and the 350Z has certainly made an impression on me (not with the tickets and police kinda way). Its a great car and I intend on keeping it till I am old and want something a tad faster.

What are your guys feelings on aftermarket kits?? The stealer got us hooked on the aftermarket warranty for the 100000 mile 3 year thing so I don't want to do anything that will void that or else I might have been spending more of my money on my car. I do have money for a kit or a new bumper, but not enough to paint it and fit it, and so on. I told her I could do the fitment as one of my older knowledgeable friends has had 2 years of auto body and did a nice job on the wide body kit for his Eclipse GSX.

The point is, should i go for a full aftermarket kit, and headlights?? Or should I install it back to stock?

Yes as a matter of fact I did. Unfortunately it ran away (was a healthy heaping doe as well) and I couldn't find it , I really wanted some venison steak at that point I am also sure me coming home with a deer on the hood of my Z would have made my parents oh so proud lol

I say go for aftermarket. I have used a wreck(not my Z) as an excuse to go aftermarket on two occasions. The insurance will give you the money for stock parts and you can pay the difference and get what you want. Sucks that your car is wrecked but might as well take advantage of the oppurtunity.

My only advice is if your going to do aftermarket, do it right the first time. If you can't afford to have the work done the right way the first time, just get it fixed to stock under insurance and wait until you can afford to do it.

your first priority should be to fix your car. what you put on it or how you do it is up to you and your insurance company. just know that if you are considering aftermarket you may end up paying out of pocket since most insurance companies pay the repair shop directly and give them guidelines on what to use to fix the car.

Alright, I am gonna get some pics in later but for now I am still undecided. Any horror stories with aftermarket body installation gone wrong? I wanna know what kind of tricks some of the body shops will use to squeeze out a little extra. Thanks for the advice guys.

spend some more time reading up on threads here dude. you've been asking some pretty vague questions that have been addressed & discussed hundreds of times in the past here. just letting you know in advanced before flaming continues.

Please refrain from the Off-Topic excessive use of pics. To the OP, yes sir, it would be nice if we could have some pics of you car included...

Thank you,

Yes that stuff is rust in the pics, it has been raining a lot lately and there was nothing I could do about it except try to cover it. That doesn't apply to the wheels though

Does the deer have insurance? Just claim it threw him or her.... or it.
I wouldnt go with a kit. Not unless you have all the money up front. Halph projects never get finished... and if they do, its usually because you went the cheap rout. Well maby a nismo v1 kit would be cool... than you can stay stock everywhere else.

Difficult to believe a deer could do that much damage. That's lots of body panels to replace. Did your insurance company say that it is economically repairable?

How long ago did this happen? I'm sure you can still file a claim.

Ohhh if you saw the deer I am SURE you would understand. It was also running full speed, and as with all deer hits I didn't see the thing till it was literally 10 feet away. By the way that dent is mainly from the head and neck, it didn't get to shoulder me, thank god.

oh ya I can still file. I don't think I got it but there are splatter marks on the fender and a bunch of hair wedged into the cracks. I am pretty sure the insurance company would have no problem with it, as we basically have about 8-10 hits a week during the mating season where I am at.
