Default New rattle (Z is 11months old today, with 10,200 miles)

The rear view mirror on the windsheild..it rattles now. If I hold it, it doesn't, but soon as I let go, it gives me yucky rattle.. anyone else have it? I'm going to go to nissan and hopefully get it replaced or fixed atleast.

Please do not use the word "yucky" when describing the sound to the dealership.

Gotta be the Silver Turn Signals.

I have 2000 miles on my car (exactly) and my mirror rattles, actually, it started at about 700 miles or so, maybe even less.

Went to the dealer, they said they would fix it if they could hear the rattle, we went on a drive, and of course, it chose not to rattle for that ride.

I had the same problem. Took it apart and looked for the culprit. I could not find anything in there that might be causing the rattle so I put it back together and now it does not rattle anymore... Who knows, when it did make the noise it was really hard to miss and made me crazy. It seemed to happen most when it was colder outside. So far it seems to be staying gone but I have no idea what I did to fix it.

Default Had same rattle this morning - found my problem

I had the same rattle in the rear-view mirror area. I messed with the mirror for a few this morning in my bumpy parking lot and found my problem.

The black plastic cover that goes over the wire leading into the headliner from the mirror came loose. It seems to expand (2 parts) and clip into place. It's kinda loose so I'm also going to use a dab of super glue to hold the two pieces together.

Hope this helps!!!

Instead of glue, get some felt dots at Lowe's and insert between the pieces. HAd this problem 12 months ago and solved it real nice.

I had this issue as long as I could remember, and the dealer pointed out exactly that. They tightened/glued that plastic cover. They claim to have fixed the problem, but I can still hear it in cold mornings, and it seemed to come from inside the rear view mirror casing.

And of course I can never replicate any rattles when the dealer/technician is with me.......

Hmmmm.... must be a cold thing. The rattle came back this morning!! So I took the plastic cover off - no rattle the rest of the way..... I'm going to spend more time with it this afternoon - I will not let some piece of plastic beat me!!!
