You mentioned you don't race, except for at the track. Are you seriously telling us you've tracked your car and STILL don't realize you shouldn't hit the brake when driving through a puddle??

IDK, you're weird, I call BS on this thread. You're just looking for attention....

That right there made me throw up the :tool: flag.

Did your keyboard hydroplane too? Because all your posts look like they've been in a wreck...

*Scratches head. I'm going to take a guess that he's posting from an iPhone and it's auto correcting his horrible spelling into other words. Anyways, like everyone else says, driving too fast, not paying attention to what was ahead of you, and on top of that you hit the brakes which made your situation a lot more worse. Live and learn, good to see you and the car wasn't hurt.

It could be a number of things that could have happened. Bad tires, crappy driving, etc. I say go with wider tires, more rubber to the ground the better.

Going to wider tires would simply give the car more flotation and make it easier to hydroplane. Your advice might be good for dry conditions, but terrible for the wet.

Anyway, some of you guys need to take a chill pill. The guy was just asking for some advice, not an attack on his driving skills. Take it easy.................

You're right. Wider tires make hydroplaning more likely, not less.

Some of the folks are overly harsh (as is typical here) but pointing out that he was going to fast for conditions and that putting any pressure on the brakes was a mistake is simply helpful advice.
