There is so much lies and dishonesty in this post it is truly amazing. I don't think this is the customer posting, i think this is the shop themself, probably JIM from top racing group in honk Kong.

Let start with some time lines

Knowing that it would require a bit of work done to the engine, cos I wanted to turbo charge my engine, so I went to Top Racing Hong Kong to have them follow up my order. I ordered ceremic coat, turbo cams, valve springs and retainer kit and the stage 3 fuel system setup. Prior to my order, they were promising how everything will work fine and go smooth before I ordered the parts, but after I told Top Racing to makethe transfer they have almost disappeared from the face of the planet, it took them months to send the parts out.
Never had any communication with this customer direct, it was all with the shop TOP RACING GROUP . they ordered the flowing pats

-GTM HR turbo cams stage 2
-GTM vq35hr rods
-GTM ARP L19 STUDS
-GTM STAGE 1 VALVE TRAIN UPGRADE( SPRINGS AND RETAINERS )
-GTM HR TURBO PISTON(CUSTOM COMPRESSION )
-GTM STAGE 3 FUEL SYSTEM

-Customer was advise that custom pistons will take anywhere from 4-6 weeks + Coating payment was received on 03- 23-09 and parts were shipped out on 05-29-09

-First communication with any sort of problem was on 9-29-09 with an issue with the valve spring, stating that the springs we supplied them were wrong and the head needed to be machined to install them. keep in mind that those springs have been used for for the last several years with out any issues. after receiving the springs back and test fit them, no problem was found and the do fit right in, also there was no problem with the retainers as the claimed that the retainer were too small. the interesting part is after claming that retainers were no good, the did keep them and used them on the engine and when we asked for the reasoning of not returning the simply said will just pay for the retainers only .

here is e mail in response to that missing retainers form MIKE@GTM

"In regards to the valve springs, they fit in the lifters with plenty of room to spare. They also fit in all three variations of the VQ35 (DE, RevUp, and HR) heads with room to spare. We have also imported several low mileage Japenese Domestic Market VQ35 engines in the past and they are identical to US versions. There is no doubt in our minds that these valve springs fit...no modification required. Also, just because you could use the retainers we sent you as part of a kit, doesn't mean that you can return half the kit. 0_o It's like buying a computer from a computer store, taking out the power supply and trying to return it because you don't like the keyboard...doesn't work like that."

Also here is the pics of the valve springs that they claim the are 1 inch longer

Their claims of defective camshafts making noise

I would like to point out something, we buy our camshafts blanks from the same foundry that jim wolf. brian crower and killferd cams buys , it a company located in turkey, for the center lines journal to be machined too small will mean a mistake was made in hundreds and hundreds of cams all over the world sense there is only one cam blanks supplier in the world that is supplying the VQHR cams, still got the cams back did all the measurement to find every thing was in specs and it is clearly now that those guys don't know what they are doing, here some video to demonstrate that

Below is the video from them showing us how the cams making noise

<a href="http://s313.photobucket.com/albums/ll383/GTMPOWER/Top%20racing%20cam%20vids/?action=view&current=Topracingsvid.flv" target="_blank"><img src="http://i313.photobucket.com/albums/ll383/GTMPOWER/Top%20racing%20cam%20vids/th_Topracingsvid.jpg" border="0" alt="" style="width: 160px;"></a>

And now here is the video we made

<a href="http://s313.photobucket.com/albums/ll383/GTMPOWER/Top%20racing%20cam%20vids/?action=view&current=P1090177-1.flv" target="_blank"><img src="http://i313.photobucket.com/albums/ll383/GTMPOWER/Top%20racing%20cam%20vids/th_P1090177-1.jpg" border="0" alt="" style="width: 160px;"></a>

Fuel system press drop

This was because they left the small o'ring on the oem FPR ADEPTER FITTING OFF, very common for the inexperience, also the fuel pump he claimes was a little bigger then stock is a walbro 255 wich can handel 550 RWHP

So after 50 pages of e mails back and forth, we refused to offer any refunds so they opted to take the parts back, and bash us here on the forum

Crossed my fingers as I had some upcoming plans for GTM. Im glad Sam broke it down issue by issue. Unless Monster has a rebuttal, safe to say this is over and done with?

Thumbs up

Nice thorough response from Sam. A response like that does take a while to put together.

It's interesting how the same characters come out of the wood work with a thirst for blood ready to crucify on these boards demanding answers immediately as if companies have no other pressing issues or other things to tend to.

This is peoples livelihoods and unfortunately some just see it as a way to gossip and or have drama in their day regardless of the repercussions of their uneducated and opinionated statements most of the time never having dealt with the company under fire from a very one sided post.

Bumping a thread or adding fuel to a tainted fire your your own entertainment is tasteless and shameful. I have no benefit from posting in here other than to commend Sam and GTM for a professional response and not letting the GOONS get to them.

For those of you that take offense to this post ... GOOD! Hopefully it strikes a chord with you because should someone take fire on your livelihoods or past I'm sure you would get a bit pissed off as well. Some of you sit on your moral high horse toting your past employment or current employment as some award or knowledge of what is and should be the thing to do never knowing in full and well what it actually takes sometimes.

Continue to crucify the vendors and reps, continue to slang the mud and see who actually comes out dirty in the end - it wont be us (the vendors the supporters of this community, the ones who hook you up and continue to break the barriers to help educate the end user in order to make more educated decisions on products and installs , the ones who get lowballed on the regular devaluing our labor and history) Again SHAME ON YOU - the ones who do this on the regular for your own personal entertainment.

People kept bumping this thread because they wanted answers. I don't think people did so out of malice but simply out of genuine curiosity and concern of vendor integrity. I can understand the concerns because people were thinking about buying turbo components from them, which I might add are NOT cheap, and simply wanted to make sure a vendor did not fall down a slippery slope as so many on here have. GTM did come in here to represent themselves and I believe they made a powerful case in their defense but a lot of the "gossip" and "drama" that you mentioned would have been avoided if this response came much sooner.

I suppose in GTM's defense, Sam did state that they searched for this thread and couldn't find it.

Guys heres one thing I can tell you about Sam. He keeps meticulous records on what shop purchased what for what customer. Now we all know every shop has their "problems' however if you know Sam he will bend over backwards to help you if the problem is on his end. It really sadness me to see all this conflict between various parts of the region "searching for blood" as Darren pointed out. After spending some time on other car forums its no wonder that we never advance as a community and continue to have the same issues. I hope all the childish posting will stop and people can get back to what the love the most moding their cars instead of this silly witch hunt. I have cleaned up the bs in this thread and given my thoughts. I hope we can come together as a community but they way things are going I doubt it.
