How many miles does your Z have? If it has more that 60k on it, I would recommend changing a couple of belts, such as the alternator just as a precaution.

11,000 miles. Not too worried about major stuff I just want to make sure I don't forget the minor stuff.

lol

Yeah, other than the fact that you'll be adding 50% of your miles to the car (eek!), you'll be fine.

Get a bra like dfresh suggested, and put a nice coating of protecting wax before you leave.

Lastly, don't drive through plain states at night if you can avoid it. You'll want to shoot yourself in the face.
Yeah def invest in a radar detector if you don't already have one. There is nothing more some podunk cop likes to do than stop somebody driving a nice sports car and give them a ticket or court date so they have to come back there.

dito on the plain states

Don't forget to check your spare tire's pressure and double check that the jack and wrench are there. (Good lord, I sound like my Pops)

Good luck and enjoy the trip!

If you don't already own one, get a portable GPS device with an up-to-date business database. I couldn't believe how handy these things were until I went on a long road trip through British Columbia and was able to plan out food, gas, rest stops, etc. on my Garmin. It makes travel a lot less stressful. It also does a great job letting you know how much longer you have to put up with those uncomfortable Z seats until you reach your destination.

I've done the coast-to-coast trip twice now in the USA and once across Australia, and the one thing I remember from those drives is that it makes a huge difference having lots of bottled water on hand (especially in the Australian outback) I did the USA trips in a 1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass Cierra FBI car and a POS 1986 Chevrolet Spectrum hatchback. The Australia trip was in a Holden Commodore, which was definitely the most comfortable of the bunch.

I've thought about going on a long road trip from Seattle to Mt. Rushmore and back in the Z, but honestly, the thought of my fat *** in a Z seat for 6 solid days is enough to give me a panic attack.

With that said, have a fun drive.
