Just curious..........
Nissan pathfinder, nissan altima 3.5 and nissan maxima 3.5
Dont all of the above have same engine(VQ35DE) as 350z?
How come 350z has >300Hp while rest of all have only around 250Hp.
Do you think air intake and exhaust added >50Hp in 350z?

I think thats what nissan has been doing. Same engine in all vehicles? that is BS
all vehicles from Inifiniti (fx, g35, M, qx, i35) have same engine. Even murano and "quest" has vq35de.
Dont be surprised if a soccer mom in automatic quest minivan smoke us from stop light

THey are all VQ's but there are many VQ variants..........everything from all aluminum block and head to iron, to sleeved, to 3.5L to 4.0L VQ in the Xterra......etc, etc...
Nissan gave their engine designers the task to build a engine to take them through the years, last i remember checking a VQ varient is in 9 of 15 models........others obviously wouldn't have it, like a 4 banger sentra or a titan or armada, etc..
Nissan design criteria for the VQ - was "To build an engine to last in Excess of 200K miles"
Wards feels they hit it!
Google WARDS Automovite 13 years in a row NISSANS VQ......

Is it an RB, or a 2JZ...........NO, but its still a reliable dammn good engine....decent platform to work off of.....

OP its called a modular engine. nissan and the only company to do it, but even if they were they must be doing something right or else their cars wouldnt be so popular, espically the z/g
