Default Going on vacation for 2 weeks, what should I do for the Z?

Well, I still have like a month before I got, but it's 10 after 3, and I'm just curious about it now.

Well as the title sums up my question pretty thoroughly, what do you think I should do, if anything for my baby? I know I hear about people draining gas tank, or unhooking the battery, but I think that'd be too much since it's only gonna be for 2 weeks, and not 3+ months. Sorry, I not trying to get flamed, it's just that I've never been away from my last car, and DEFINITELY not my Z for more than a few days. Since I got my Z in July, I have driven her at LEAST once every day, even if it's just around the block
So my first question, how long do you think the Z, (or any car for that matter) should go without even being turned on? Let alone driven around?

So any thing I should or should NOT do? My options for where she can stay, are two places:

1. my garage at school -- it's covered/underground garage, and there shouldn't be many other cars if any there. The plus side, it will be covered from the elements (who knows what december weather will bring ) but the downside is, no one will really be able to check on her, cause everyone else goes home for winter break, and I doubt my mom will drive all the way to just check on my car.

2. outside my home -- no garage, I dont even have a car cover for her yet. I guess a plus would be that it's right at home, and I live in a pretty nice/quiet neighborhood, so less chances of vandalism/stealing.

grr, if only there was a nice heated garage at my house, then all problems would be solved

thanks SO much in advance for any advice, as usual

There's nothing you need to do maintenance-wise if you're only going to be away for 2 weeks. The car will do fine sitting around for much longer than that.

Your main concern should be safety. I'd just store the car in a place with the least possiblity of it getting jacked or vandalized. Even in a covered garage, I'd suggest putting a car cover on.

I think you are ok ... nothing needs to be done since you have no engine mods.

After my mods... NISMO advised me that when I am away .. to have somebody run the engine 10 minutes every 2 days...

Example...some GT-R owners here have the tendency to let their cars sit weeks on end without running them due to bad weather or personal schedules. This fouls everything up....

I'd go with the underground garage.......nothing is better than your personal locked garage, but since that's not an option, I wouldn't ever just leave it sitting outside for two weeks..........it's not bad for the car, but some idiot may not be nice. No maintenance required for a two week sitting.

Hey, just park it at my house. I'll switch between my Z and your's for lunch runs. And, I promise not to go over 7500 rpm...

And my neighbor across the street has a Lemans, so your Z won't get lonely while you are gone.

Problem solved!

Leave your car with a FULL tank of gas to keep any particles from settling down and getting into your fuel system.

If I leave for more than 3 weeks I put the car on jack stands under the lower control arms. This keeps the springs loaded as normal, but reduces the tendency for the tires to flat spot.

Probably not really something you need to do but it's a suggestion

noahbuddy - lol I'll consider it...It would be nice if she had another Z or two to keep her company.

Thanks all for the replies!

I think in the end, the hardest part is gonna be on me anyways, I dont know what I'm gonna do not even driving her for 2 weeks! Ah well, it will make for me returning to her all the more sweet

I would definitely leave it with a full tank of gas. That will also prevent condensation in the tank from watering down the gas.
