Frustration!

Now, I know we've got plenty of time to go before we get our babies, but my dealership doesn't know ****!
I don't feel comfy asking him to NOT INSTALL THE FRONT LICENSE PLATE BRACKETS or to CALL ME IF ANYTHING CHANGES. He just says "Yep, I'll make a note of it..."
Make a note of it?! I feel completely uncomfortable that some little yellow post-it note has "no front plate" written on it with complete disregard to the importance of these little things.
Can anybody help put this process in better perspective? Maybe some positive experiences, a to-do list or protocol to take to be comfortable with this whole process? Maybe someone who has been through this type of pre-order process with another vehicle?
We know infinitely more than the dealerships, no question. Ahhhh, I feel better venting a little bit!

What I would recommend you do is FAX them a list of your concerns and requests about 5 to 10 days before the car arrives, and FAX it again the night before it arrives. You will know this information well ahead of time (once you get your VIN# from Nissan).
Telling them no front plate right now is just too early, in my opinion. Your salesmen is probably thinking "how can I sell another Altima before we close tonight" while you are talking to him.

I know what you're going through Krazy. I actually visited my dealer this weekend...Drove 4 hours mind you (Going to visit family anyway). I have a nightmare going...First the Guy I ordered my car from no longer works there, (quit or fired) your choice. Secondly I call and they say the manager will be taking over my purchase. To make a long story short I go in and this guys is sitting behind a desk doing jack squat and I ask him for info on my Z. What he did next was totally what I call "The Dealership we got your money Blow-off". He said, I really don't have time to look it up right now could I please take down your number and I'll give you a call on Tuesday. I was there on Saturday mind you and I have yet to receive a call from this guy. This has irritated me so much that I'm afraid I might punch his *** next time I see him. Sorry about the french but this guy really got to me. Thirdly I here that the dealership had been bought and they are going to be sending orders from this place to other dealerships in the area. I really lost it then. I am now in the process of trying to get my car shipped to a dealership near me. I'm sure I will have to still deal with these clowns financially but I'll never order a car out of state again.
I just want my Z without having to choke anyone...thank you.. I feel better venting as well. I have more to say but this has gotten way too long....

Since these guys have your money on a good-faith arrangement, they need to act responsibly. You can't shop elsewhere now because of the pre-order arrangement, so guess what? They now have the responsibility to act like adults. Contact NNA and let them know of your concerns and the dealership's behavior.

I was not happy to hear this, because by the end of July or early August I'll have moved to Ohio. So I'll have to travel back to DC to pick up my car. I won't be able to take a week off to wait around at the dealership hoping my car's on the next truck.

Sorry JR, that's sucky!
The woman that I directly ordered my car from no longer works there either. I was directed to the fleet manager, though. Even though I didn't feel too comfortable talking to someone else that hadn't heard my concerns as she had, he at least listened.
Try asking for the top dog to talk to about your car. If he doesn't step up and listen, no one will.
And brackethead, my dealer doesn't have that info either. He said "I know you were one of the first to order with us. We should be getting our cars in September but I don't know who's car will come when" Ahhhhh, the beauty of information!
