Anyone found a good use for the empty Nav Hole?
I have searched for something to fill this void but have yet to find something in the 6Wx3Hx3D range..
Ive looked for an EQ to help the pitiful 240w bose system but most are 7x1x7 XM radio was another possibilty but it looks as if you need an additional external antanna that im not willing to add. Any ideas?
How hard do you think it would be to add an EQ? I have yet to venture into tearing the dash apart to get to the back of the Bose to see.
Any Audio experts out there have ideas?

I don't know if you can add any electronics without ripping your dash apart, but... I think a nice soft disc pack holding 6-12 CDs might fit nicely in there. Haven't tried it yet, but I will do so soon.
Even replacing the door speakers looks tricky, since there's no grille cover to pop off and it looks like you'll have to remove the giant monolithic inside door panel. I will wait to see how others fare with these upgrades before I go ripping into my new Z!

For anyone planning on using this they also sell a 12v power cord that can be hardwired so you don't have to worry about replacing batteries.

Garmin does sell an external attenna that replaces the plastic one seen in the picture. You actually remove the stock antenna and connect a cable with a BNC connector. The external antenna is pretty slick and you can put it pretty much anywhere in the car since it comes with 25' of cable.

I actually have nav in my Z or I will when it gets here.
But i have been using my Garmin and laptop for years, it is by far the next best thing to haveing a nav system. Garmin sells tons of accessories for their units. Special mounts, etc, etc. I'm sure you can design a nice setup in the NAV hole using some of their products.

i was thinking of putting the Apex'i RSM and/or S-AFC in the slot. PERFECT stealth hole..
other suggestions might be
gauges aka EGT/FUEL PRESS. etc
or.. you could just a nice LCD screen for movies.

Garmin SPIII and an external antenna - I've had it for two years now since it first came out - with the new update its better than a lot of in car NAV systems - and its portable if you need it to be...
If anyone can confirm that it fits - that would be cool.
