Default Anyone found a good use for the empty Nav Hole?

I have searched for something to fill this void but have yet to find something in the 6Wx3Hx3D range..

Ive looked for an EQ to help the pitiful 240w bose system but most are 7x1x7 XM radio was another possibilty but it looks as if you need an additional external antanna that im not willing to add. Any ideas?

How hard do you think it would be to add an EQ? I have yet to venture into tearing the dash apart to get to the back of the Bose to see.

Any Audio experts out there have ideas?

I don't know if you can add any electronics without ripping your dash apart, but... I think a nice soft disc pack holding 6-12 CDs might fit nicely in there. Haven't tried it yet, but I will do so soon.

Even replacing the door speakers looks tricky, since there's no grille cover to pop off and it looks like you'll have to remove the giant monolithic inside door panel. I will wait to see how others fare with these upgrades before I go ripping into my new Z!

I was hoping that with some help either:
1) an iPod and conection either directly, or with FM transmitter
2) A smartPhone such as a Treo or Kyocera
3) Both

Well instead of spending 2G's for a monitor and a fancy nav system. I was going to spend like 200 for a monitor, and another 200 for a ps2, there now i can play ps2 and watch movies

For anyone planning on using this they also sell a 12v power cord that can be hardwired so you don't have to worry about replacing batteries.
UI've got the Garmin Streetpilot III with the external antennae as well as the 12v speaker/adapter. They are really slick and work great. I'm gonna mount the matchbox sized antennae just north of the hatch opening and fish the wire inside the headliner up to the dash. If, and I hope if, the unit fits in the NAV space, it's gonna look so cool. When it's all in place, I'll post pics.

i was thinking of putting the Apex'i RSM and/or S-AFC in the slot. PERFECT stealth hole..

other suggestions might be

gauges aka EGT/FUEL PRESS. etc

or.. you could just a nice LCD screen for movies.

Garmin SPIII and an external antenna - I've had it for two years now since it first came out - with the new update its better than a lot of in car NAV systems - and its portable if you need it to be...

If anyone can confirm that it fits - that would be cool.
