Tips for selling a 350 roadster
Hey guys,
The time has come to sell my 350 roadster. It's been a great toy and lots of fun, but, I've got to get rid of her.
I was wondering if anyone has any tips for getting top dollar for a 350Z? Do you allow people to test drive it? I don't want anyone thrashing it... Is it worth it to get touch ups professionally done, perfect mechanical shape, etc. or would the payoff on such a final investment not be worth it. I've listed it on kijiji.ca and filled out an eSpection vehicle inspection and had it posted at http://espection.com/index.php?main_...d=74&chapter=3.
How long should I expect to take it to sell? Are serious buyers hard to come by? Is there anything else I can do? I want a quick sale, but I don't wanna give her away!!
Thanks guys,
Jason

Quick sale and not wanting to give it away dont go together in this economy. Unless its way under book you wont see a quick sale and private sales on a relatively expensive car meaning most will have to get a loan to purchase it will just make the entire process that much longer. Dreamers, those with bad credit, those just wanting to kill time and tire kickers will be 9 out of the ten people contacting you

Be patient and wait for the right offer. Price it reasonable to start and you will have a much easier time than pricing high and coming off your initial price. My brother didnt allow test drives on his 2006 STI when he sold it last month (sold to the first person inquiring) in 1 week, but rather took the guy for a ride. Once a deposit was put forth, he offered a test drive.
Stock cars sell better than modded cars also. Post on forums and craigslist. If you really want to go above and beyond, buy the carfax on it yourself and provide it to the prospective buyers to show you are ready to sell it and confident it has a clean record and your not trying to B.S. anyone.

LOL, at one point i had DUKEs car on my lot with a for sale sign on it. This Latin man comes in and goes. "i like the car can i take it for a test drive". So i go with the guy and he's like WOW what power, i like it.
NEVER SAW HIM AGAIN!!! lol...think he just wanted to take a ride in a Z.

I have had ours for sale for a few months also. Take it to a dealership and see what they'll give you straight up for it as a baseline, and add $1500 from there to get "fair" value. If it lasts much longer, I'm going to drive it into a wall and get RETAIL PLUS TAX. Murphy would probably have me break my neck, too, so I haven't done it.
